Mortal Kombat 1 PS5 PlayStation 5 Sony 1

There’s a strong chance Mortal Kombat 1’s pretty cool Kameos system could lead to some crazy crossovers in the future. For those of you who haven’t been following the fighter, the system allows you to tag in a teammate to help during combat, with the allies also aiding during Fatalities and some devastating special moves.

And while a bunch of Kameos have already been confirmed as part of All Mortal Kombat 1 Characters, the potential for even more additions is enormous. According to some marketing materials coming out of Brazil, developer NetherRealm Studios is eager to build on the number of Kameos available post-release – and is even allegedly lining up some guest characters.

While the translated wording is a little vague, it’s easy to see how clever use of Kameos could be used to expand the lifecycle of the game. Clearly, less development resources will need to be committed to include these characters, and so there’s a lot of potential for the addition of guests, both across parent company Warner Bros’ intellectual property – and even beyond.

We’d love to see some PlayStation exclusive characters make the cut here – and it wouldn’t be the first time, as Kratos was a fully playable character in Mortal Kombat 9 already, for example. Are there any Kameos you think would make realistic inclusions? Finish the fight in the comments section below and let us know.
