FFXVI holding onto 5th position will not be what the haters were hoping for surely.

@ChrisDeku ff16 is probably at 5 million by now. Once it comes to PC next year it will clear 10 million easy.

I think October is going to break records all around. So many great games releasing curious to see who #1 Spiderman 2 and Mario are possible but don't sleep on mortal Kombat 1.

Three COD titles in the top 20. I just won’t ever understand this. I literally have MW2 (charting at no. 3…?) for “free” through PS+, along with 5 other COD games (one of which is BO3 which also charted) and have never bothered to even download and play any of them. I wish I could sell my license to digital games in my library. 😅 People are still buying these old games.

@KaijuKaiser yeah I was shocked too, mk is usually one of the best selling games of the year when ever its released. MK1 will probably be in the top 10 selling games of the year with only being out for 3 months.

People love Mario Kart. Talk about staying power.

I am happier than ever with PlayStation's success because they are not damaging the industry every way they can like Microsoft is.

MK8D will likely be in the charts until the Switch is replaced. And maybe past that if the device is fully BC.

Maybe if that mythical thing known as Mario Kart 9 ever releases, it'll drop, but it'll have been a decade since a new one of these games. Ugh.

Never played any game on the list, other than MLB 23. Spider-Man ‘1’ on PS4 as well, but certainly not at all this year.

At least there seems to be something for everyone.

@naruball Yep, that was based off of one Forbes editorial from someone is decidedly anti-Sony. People who were looking for any negative story about PS5 ran with it and then it disappeared when the story was debunked.

@theSpectre I've genuinely tried to get into the remaster, but it was rough for me to get into it when Alan is just self narrating the entire way so I'm not sure if 2 will be for me. SM2 looks super promising I just hope it genuinely succeeds because I loved the first game.

@Nepp67 Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all-time (basically the only reason I kept my 360), but I get that it's not for everyone.

Want to point out this list is worthless, as at bottom it says "* Digital sales not included"! 80% of games sold are now digital downloads. Imagine a top 20 song list and at bottom you see it's only for cassette tapes 🤣lol
