Capcom has confirmed its co-operative dinosaur shooter Exoprimal has been booted up by more than one million users since the 14th July 2023 launch across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The game was released straight into Xbox Game Pass — and our findings suggest the subscription service will be doing much of the heavy lifting here — but it still marks a successful launch for the title. To celebrate, Capcom is bundling a free skin in with its title update on 16th August 2023.
All players will be given a free Skywave skin on the aforementioned date to commemorate the milestone, and you can see what it looks like in the tweet below. "We're hard at work on improvements to the game based on player feedback. Thank you for your ongoing support," said Capcom.
As detailed in our Exoprimal PS5 review, we've found a lot to like about the online shooter, from the varied playstyles its Exosuits bring to the table to the fun plot and mixture of hero shooter and horde mode. "A white-knuckle fusion of Overwatch 2 and Gears of War, the excellent Exoprimal is one of the best co-op shooters in quite some time. With a varied, entertaining roster of characters, all with unique playstyles and synergies, there’s tactical depth to this third-person shooter which only serves to make its pulsating prehistoric battles all the more rewarding."

Played it on gamepass for all of 10 mind
On 1 platform it's free with subscription. And last I heard there were 25 million subscribers to game pass. I don't even feel like doing the math, but that's not impressive. Selling 1 million is impressive. Not getting 1 million people to try a game is not very impressive.

Very dull game, would never buy this. They knew why they used Gamepass.
It's my favorite game of the summer - I've been enjoying it more that Street Fighter even. SF is the better game - but this one is more fun.
Once you get around player level 25 or so it really opens up into a lot of modes. The controls are so simple and intuitive it can make you feel pretty bad ass at times.
Monster Hunter started out a light affair. I can see this one having legs. I hope the Japanese people are into it.
I'm doing a couple of matches a night to chip away at the main campaign.
It's not too bad but if it wasn't for Game Pass I would of passed on it to be honest as heavy on micro transactions.

@Cutmastavictory Capcom got their check already. Getting 1 million to try your game, and potentially sell them cosmetics/shortcuts is more impressive than 1 million people NOT trying the game and your game falling into obscurity.
Capgod is placing full page ads on Push, Pure and NL - for weeks - obviously they are putting money behind marketing and support for the game.

Especially for a multiplayer game (live service) that was released in basically all platforms (except Switch). A game that was also added (day 1) into a sub-service so for many was almost "free" to play-try.
1 million players (not games sold) isn't impressive at all. Lets see if the game can retain its player-base too (in the long run); that's where the success of games like this actually lies.
This was the weirdest game for me. I am level 54 right now and I am totally addicted to the stupid fun. Many of the best moments happen once you hit like 15-20 games. I honestly was surprised when new modes and sequences would play out.
