A day before the launch of its expansion, Guerrilla Games has just released a new patch for Horizon Forbidden West on PS5. It's an important one, too, as you won't be able to start playing Burning Shores without it.

The patch brings the game to version 1.021.000, and it's pretty big, weighing in at roughly 14GB. The patch adds various accessibility features to the game, including an option to automatically pick up resources, thalassophobia relief (improves visibility underwater and lets Aloy stay underwater indefinitely regardless of progression), and the ability to enlarge subtitles. Here are the full patch notes:

  • Introduced new accessibility features, including:
    • Enlarging Subtitles
    • Auto-Pickup
    • Color Blindness settings
    • Auto camera
    • Navigation assist in Focus Mode
    • Thalassophobia mode
    • Additional accessibility features
  • Support for Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores expansion has been added.

So, the important thing is to get this installed if you're planning to play the DLC once it goes live, but the patch also includes some nice extra options besides. Are you excited to play Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores? Glide into the comments section below.
