Animated streaming monolith Crunchyroll has crowned Cyberpunk 2077 tie-in series Edgerunners Anime of the Year, beating out popular series like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan for the top spot.
Edgerunners is a stand-alone work which reignited interest in the once-maligned open-world RPG, alongside a meaty patch that reinvigorated the base game. We loved it, and if you haven't already and are a fan of the world of Cyberpunk, you really should check it out.

It's a little ironic you can't find it on Crunchyroll. That anime is a Netflix exclusive.
I’ve watched it 3 times over. Such a great one-off anime.
It's good but it's no demon slayer, even chainsaw man was better imo.
Still for me Hero academia is personal my all time favorite. One Punchman is working on a new season and Castlevania was such a fantastic conclusion that didn't overstay it's welcome by milking it dry.

Well deserved. The show really turned things around big time for Cyberpunk as a whole and can be enjoyed even if you have no interest in the game. (Although you should consider playing it now that its been fixed up, great game)

Sounds like a sham. It seems like they only crowned it as it's based off a western ip. There are so many much much better anime deserving of that reward.

That's a no from me maybe I'm a bit biased because I'm a mega fan of the series but to me nothing was better than BLEACH Thousand Year Blood War

@DrGonzo Cyberpunk: Edgerunners came out last year. The ceremony was for anime from last year.

@Flaming_Kaiser hope its better than season 2 ,it seems rushed and the quality of animation was sub par ,compared to season 1
@tallythwack I'm expecting season 2 release late this year, the first season actually came out last October in japan but took them until this year to do the English dub. But with its high popularity in the west I'd expect the English dub to be done around the same time for season 2.
@themightyant In theory a content provider would be only patting themselves on the back, but Crunchyroll back when it was owned by Warner Brothers did exactly the same thing, so Sony sees no reason to change what isn't wrong.
@tallythwack I still had a lot of fun but I agree season one was better. But with my Hero Academia I have another favorite. 😁
I never watch half the shows they cover in awards. It's probably fine and I know Studio Trigger's quality but eh. I don't care for the awards and otherwise I have my sequels/new shows I watched last year and that's that. Going my own path is the way it is for me.
I've only seen the first two episodes last year in September, but it definitely seems well deserving! One of these days I'll go back and finish it.
