Metal Gear Rising 10th Anniversary

In case you didn't know, it's the 10th anniversary of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance a few weeks from now, on the 21st February. And guess what? Developer Platinum Games is now teasing an "event" for the big day.

Naturally, there's already a lot of speculation over what this is all about. Just the other week, Raiden's voice actor, Quinton Flynn, seemed to suggest that some kind of announcement was incoming — and this tied into a bunch of other Metal Gear revival rumours doing the rounds at the time.

"Stay tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks," Flynn said on Twitter.

Now, worst case scenario, this is just Platinum giving fans an excuse to wheel out the Metal Gear Rising memes. The Japanese studio's tweet mentions nothing other than the unveiling of new Metal Gear Rising artwork for the sake of celebration. But at this point, we feel as though it'd be disappointing if there was no proper announcement of...something.

Given that Konami seems to be back in the game with its numerous Silent Hill projects, a Metal Gear Rising remaster would surely fit the bill. And of course, we've had those aforementioned Metal Gear rumours floating around online for ages.
