At first glance, Loop8: Summer of Gods looks like a laidback slice-of-life adventure – but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, protagonist Nini was born and raised on a space station, and has returned to Earth when it’s at the brink of extinction. His goal? To defeat a race of demonic entities known as the Kegai.

The twist here is that Nini can use his connection to the gods to relive his summer over and over again, effectively leading to a Deathloop-style situation where you repeat the same period of time until you finally put a stop to the evil threatening the end of times. Yeah, it’s not obvious from the trailer, but we promise you we’re not making this plot up – we’re not imaginative enough for that.

Anyway, if you’re a fan of games like Persona, we reckon this may appeal to you. In North America, you’ll be able to grab a Celestial Edition, featuring a soft-cover artbook, a CD soundtrack, and a mini wall scroll. There’ll also be a digital Deluxe Edition. The game is due out on 6th June in the US and Europe, and was delayed until 1st June in Japan, having previously been pegged for 16th March.
