Geoff Keighley Industry PS5 PS4 1

Geoff Keighley has done an admirable job with his The Game Awards format, providing an annual livestream that’s worth watching if you’re a fan of the medium. However, our biggest criticism is that the show has just been far too long – in recent years, the broadcast has been pushing three hours, and ultimately it runs out of steam.

It seems that the host has took the feedback to heart, and is planning a shorter event this year. “I won't say anything officially until we’re through our rehearsals, but we think it’s going to be significantly shorter,” he said on a Twitter Spaces stream.

Keighley admitted that with the shorter runtime there will be “fewer bigger games”, but he stressed that it will be worth watching: “We’ve got some really great announcements. There’s some games that I've been hoping and wanting to show for a number of years that are finally ready this year […] so we're very, very happy with how that’s coming together.”

Any guesses for what will be on display?
