Ed Boon, the face of NetherRealm Studios, likes to leave hints every now and again. The developer is known for making Mortal Kombat and the DC fighting series, Injustice, and fans have been eagerly anticipating whatever NetherRealm comes up with next. Last month, Boon said the studio's next title will be either Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3, though which one is still a mystery.

Now, after answering some questions on Twitter, we know a couple more details. Firstly, Boon teases more than once, that NetherRealm's next game will arrive in 2023:

Whether it turns out to be the next MK or Injustice game remains to be seen, but yes, it looks like it's arriving next year. Elsewhere, Boon more or less confirms we'll learn more within the next six months:

It's not a whole lot, but at least it gives fans something to hold onto. Yes, we are seemingly getting another NetherRealm fighter next year, and we'll hear more about it in the coming months. What do you want to see next from the developer? Tell us in the comments section below.
