Despite its satisfying dodgeball-inspired multiplayer and a move to free-to-play, Knockout City does feel as though it's merged into the background a bit. Developer Velan Studios is stepping things up for Season 7, however, as the game is about to get its first big crossover. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be joining the fight in September, part-way through the season.

Season 7 is named Mutant Mutiny, so it's an apt time to introduce the turtles to the mix. The main game will introduce original characters Neon, Susan, Ratfink, and Goober, while Leo, Raph, Don, and Mikey will be available as a separate premium DLC purchase. $20 will net you the four characters, each of whom also come with a unique intro pose. This will be available from 20th September.

The season has more turtley goodness, though. The premium Brawl Pass will include TMNT cosmetics to unlock, and a TMNT event will grant you access to even more. As well as all that, Season 7 throws in new stage Sludge Works and other goodies to earn.
