Thinking of making a few pathetic sand castles on holiday this summer? You need to up your game, boys (and girls)! This absurdly detailed God of War Ragnarok sand sculpture has gone viral, and has even attracted the astonishment of the previous game’s director, Cory Barlog. “Wow,” he exclaimed in response to the creation, with a heart-eyes emoji.

To be honest, this is so impressive that we’ve been zooming in on it to ensure it’s real – but it does appear to be legit. The photograph was originally posted by Reddit user SPQP, after being spotted on Fulong Beach on the eastern side of Taiwan. The area is famous for its dazzlingly impressive sand sculptures, with God of War Ragnarok hype clearly getting the best of the artists on this particular day.

God of War Ragnarok pre-orders are now live on PS5 and PS4, ahead of the game's November launch date.
