Gotham Knights PS5

Gotham Knights developer Warner Bros Montreal is adamant Batman won't be part of the game in any way beyond his death at the very beginning. Speaking in a Q&A panel at San Diego Comic-Con, creative director Patrick Redding stated Batman is "really dead" and hinted at appearances from other famous faces of the Gotham world.

In the lead-up to the game's PS5 launch on 25th October 2022, it has been presumed Gotham Knights would pull a Marvel's Avengers and have the famous vigilante reappear at the end of the campaign alive and well. Warner Bros Montreal says that's very much not the case.

As for villains, it's been confirmed Joker won't make the cut, but his accomplice Harley Quinn might. "I will not confirm or deny whether Harley is [in the game]," said Redding. Furthermore, "exactly one" Riddler question mark will be hidden somewhere in Gotham City. The comments come as the developer revealed a brand new trailer focusing on Batgirl.
