Surprisingly, Street Fighter 6 is playable at Geoff Keighley’s media portion of Summer Game Fest. That means early impressions, and crucially, gameplay footage are beginning to filter in. This 25 minute video by FGC stalwart Maximilian Dood is well worth a watch, then. It includes uninterrupted 4K video of the release, which is looking absolutely superb.

For more experienced players, it also delves into the nitty-gritty aspects of the gameplay, from the new Drive Impact mechanic through to supers and more. He mentions that the fighter feels “heavy” and that classic characters like Ryu and Chun-Li are truly unique. He also notes that, in terms of past games, it perhaps compares closest to Street Fighter 3 – although it’s absolutely its own game.

Even if you don’t care about the incredibly in-depth commentary, you can just feast your eyes on all the pretty visuals – the game is an absolute stunner from a presentation perspective, there’s no doubt about that. Perhaps the only disappointment here is that the game’s not due out until 2023 – we want it now!

Just in case you didn’t follow the news earlier, by the way, the game will feature rollback netcode and crossplay! It just gets better.
