We hope you like LEGO, because there’s no sign of a slowdown when it comes to new video games inspired by the iconic Danish export. LEGO Brawls is the latest to make the transition from Apple Arcade to console, with a PS5 and PS4 release planned for this summer. The game appears to be a Super Smash Bros-style arena brawler affair, albeit with character creation components rather than Fire Emblem heroes.

Of course, Bandai Namco – who’s publishing the title – reckons it’s a “one-of-a-kind” experience. The customisation appears to be the selling point: you can “mix and match official LEGO bricks” to “create unique mini-figure brawlers, complete with custom loadouts and power-ups tailored to each player’s preference and play style”. There’ll be a range of weapons and multiplayer modes, including both local and multiplayer options.

The announcement concludes: “A variety of fan-favourite LEGO themes and sets are available as colourful backdrops, making this the ultimate team brawler for LEGO fans of all ages.” There’s no firm release date right now, but it’s out in the summer so shouldn’t be too far away. Will you be fighting for a copy, or are you still pining for a PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale sequel?
