After just one month on the market, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is already among the six best-selling LEGO titles of all time in the US after selling more copies than any other game in the country for the month of April 2022. It also achieved the "highest launch month dollar sales for any LEGO title in history", according to NPD executive director Mat Piscatella. Elden Ring fell to second place in the sales charts to make way for the game, but it's still the best-selling game of the year so far.
The PlayStation 5 was also top of the leaderboard for hardware dollar sales in April 2022, narrowly beating out competition from the Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X|S. It marks a significant jump in console sales as the machine was in last place in March 2022's financial results. Compared to this time last year, overall hardware sales are up by 16 per cent thanks to improved stock availability.
On PS5 and PS4, MLB The Show 22, Horizon Forbidden West, and Gran Turismo 7 were all among the top five best-selling games on Sony systems for the month. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales also demonstrates its legs by remaining in the overall top 10.
A sign that people are still heavily using their PS4 is the console's DualShock 4 controller being named April 2022's best-selling accessory.

@PhhhCough I would prefer them to be in second place as they are more motivated to be in the top spot and will do everything possible to win us back. Microsoft and Sony have shown that once they are on top they get very cocky and make idiotic little moves here and there that add up.
@4kgk2 If you read the actual results, Xbox Series consoles still outsold PS5 in units sold. So, no, this is not bad news for Xbox.
In fact, headline here is deceiving since it’s only in dollar amounts that PS5 “beat” Switch and Xbox. It’s not that PS5 actually sold more than the other two. It’s still in last for that.
@awp69 it is very gd for Xbox, Sony may have made more money but every sale of Xbox and not ps is more money for Xbox in future game / GP/maybe hardware sales

@Juanalf I see it as accountability, whether good or bad, should be held. Xb, kudos to gamepass; ps, excellent games. Ps, gt7 blackout was bad; xb, the xbl outage over the weekend was worse.

@PhhhCough That xbox outage was definitely brutal. People couldn't play anything, myself and many others could play nothing while it was offline. Which shows that always online they tried to push with the xbox one launch, they brought it back over time.
I am glad there is no GTA 5 on these lists.
Back on top where they belong It has the best games this Gen so far on it so it should be number one.
@PhhhCough Mainly cause of chipset shortages xbox was selling better for first part of 2022. Its good that Playstation is selling more units, cause i prefer Sony's approach and games than Microsoft.
