Haze, the Halo killer

Ubisoft has announced the termination of online services for nearly a hundred of its older games. The publisher is clearly doing a bit of housekeeping, shutting down online multiplayer servers for software that's, let's be honest, well past its sell-by date.

Among the list of 90 games are 40 that appear on PlayStation, whether that's PS4, PS3, or even PS2 in one instance. It's Rainbow Six Lockdown, if you were curious.

Other games in the list include Rayman Origins, Call of Juarez 2 and 3, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, and a total of 11 Just Dance titles. You can view the full list through here.

If anything, it's pretty surprising that most of the games on the list still had multiplayer available. How many were still playing Haze, I Am Alive, and Avatar online on PS3 in 2022? Probably far from enough to justify the cost of keeping those servers running.

The upshot is that the games can of course still be played offline, so you won't lose access to H.A.W.X. 2 on PS3 completely. Do you have fond memories playing these old Ubi games online? Reminisce in the comments section below.
