LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is finally arriving on PlayStation 5 and PS4 on 5th April, and the plastic platformer will feature hundreds(!) of playable characters from across the sci-fi franchise. From the prequels through to the most recent trilogy, each era of the Lucasfilm giant will be represented. While the core game focuses on the nine mainline movies, the DLC will introduce even more familiar faces from spin-off films and TV shows.
Various character packs are planned for at the game's launch and beyond, each bringing yet more playable characters to the extensive roster. You'll be able to buy these packs standalone, or you can purchase the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Character Collection season pass to gain access to everything as it releases. We've listed out what each pack contains below the main story.
Upon the game's April launch, two character packs will be available. The Mandalorian Season 1 and Solo: A Star Wars Story packs each include heroes and villains from their respective sources. Two more DLC packs will be ready to roll on launch day — the Classic Characters pack and the Trooper pack — although only if you have early access by pre-ordering the game digitally. If you don't have the early access, the Classic Characters pack launches on 19th April, and the Trooper pack arrives on 4th May.
Beyond launch, more DLC packs are on the way. On 19th April, the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story pack will become available, and the 4th may sees the release of The Mandalorian Season 2 and Star Wars: The Bad Batch character packs.
That's a lot of stuff coming to a game that already seems packed. Again, this is all included with the Character Collection season pass, but we don't yet know what any of the pricing is like. Hopefully it isn't too bad. Will you be forking out for all this DLC? Check out what each character pack contains below, and leave your thoughts in the comments.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Character Pack
I wish they'd actually release games before announcing the 3000 dlc packs.
May the day-one paid DLC be with you… always
@PenguinL the most annoying thing is all these dlc packs were already announced years ago when the game was announced. The only new info in these articles is what is part of these packs and that the mandalorian pack has been split into a separate s1 and s2 pack.
Well I usually am against DLCs on launch and stuff...but I gotta have this.
I wonder if the DLC is only characters or if we will get some extra levels, maybe?
It seems the DLC has tons of main characters, wtf are base players gonna be playing.
Edit: Not that familiar with the franchise, so I might be totally wrong.
I know it might seem sacrilege, but I’ve always thought this is how dlc should be done. Additional stuff that, should you not want to buy, you can just ignore as you’ve already got hundreds of characters to play with
Classic character pack? If the game encompasses the original trilogy why are Luke, Leia, Han, Vader and Lando in a DLC pack? Surely they are already in the game?
Serious question,if I buy the physical copy deluxe edition on ps5,do I get all these dlcs???
@tomassi Most likely different looks for them.
Looking forward to the duo of skinny boba and 60 year old slightly tubby boba.
Though I take it we will also have season one mando with the staff and season 2 mando with the black saber?
@hulkie pretty sure if you order it from amazon you get all the dlc packs and it's only ten quid extra and you get a little luke drinking blue milk lego figure as well.
You mean 'Boba Fitt' & 'Boba Fatt'?
The 'Little & Large' of the Star Wars Universe.
Happens to us all eventually...
Non playable Grogu? I can hear the anger and outrage from my nieces already that they can't play as baby yoda.
Warner Bros being Warner Bros I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Releasing dlc the same day as the main game is so not cool 😡
@Jayslow yeah, my Nephews won’t be happy either. Kind of annoying since you could play as baby groot in Lego Marvel Superheroes 2. Maybe they’ll add ‘playable grogu’ as a separate dlc further down the line 👀🤔
Yeah, not cool. If this dlc was released three times six months after launch, then I have no issue with it. It gives longevity to the game. But, anything dlc day 1 SHOULD be included with the base game.
They’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
@BritneyfR_ee yup. I'm sure Mando season 3 DLC pack will come with playable baby yoda.
It's funny I had them play a bit of lego force awakens and they selected Yoda and they both freaked and said "baby yoda has a lightsaber".....I just shook my head and laughed. So maybe can fool them with this game
@tomassi In episode 4, Vader’s chest plate has a green light on it but in episodes 5 and 6 it’s blue. It’s probably something as daft as that.
All the different variations from the movies should be included in the main game though imo. I don’t mind them releasing dlc for the shows and spin offs but not for classic character styles from the movies. Bit cheeky of them really.
I was thinking about picking this up but now it's a hard no. At least give me the illusion that this stuff is being worked on after the games' release and you aren't just cutting it out of the game and selling it to me for more money.
@Hundred_Hand_Slap yeah and it’s even more annoying in this instance because they kept delaying the game but can somehow release it now with all these dlc packs available on day one… shady.
I’m just hoping it’s released in a finished state and doesn’t need several patches to make it work.
I really hope this is the last Lego game TT games make. I found their lack of communication (between delayS) disturbing. Most unimpressive.
@Quintumply If I'm not mistaken, the Deluxe Edition comes with 6 of the 7 DLC packs (Mandalorian Pack 1, Mandalorian Pack 2, Rogue One, Classic Characters, Solo, and Bad Batch)
@BritneyfR_ee Well you better get ready for a deluge of sports themed LEGO games from 2K. TT has worn out their welcome for me too. Time for other devs to take a crack at the license again.
@ApostateMage One of those might still show up, if they get around to making a DLC pack for Rebels.
Am surprised by its absence here, as well as The Clone Wars.
I wish they'd make actual levels/episodes for these movies/tv shows and not just characters.
@tomassi my guess that it will be the original Lego style characters from when the first game came out: yellow heads, basic face details, bad hair styles.
@tomassi 100% agree
I plan on buying this day one, assuming I have beaten both Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon Zero Dawn + Forbidden West by then.
If not, will wait for Holiday sales, should be dirt cheap by then.
EA has taught you well…
