When Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning was first announced, publisher THQ Nordic also confirmed that the action RPG would be getting a brand new expansion down the line. It's now been over a year since Re-Reckoning hit PlayStation 4, and honestly, we were expecting the promised expansion, Fatesworn, to be a 2022 deal. But no, it's actually going to launch this month, on the 14th December.

Given that we've seen nothing of Fatesworn in terms of gameplay footage, we certainly didn't think would be so close to release ā€” but here we are. The trailer above sets the stage for the DLC, but again, no gameplay. We assume that we'll actually get to see the expansion in action very soon.

Anyway, here's the official blurb: "Journey to a brand new region in Amalur, filled with snowy tundras, deep caverns, and treacherous enemies. Visit mountain villages and the ancient lakeside city of Crownhold and master the unstable power of Chaos with a new skill tree, weapons and armor. As the fabled Fatesworn, you will wage a last battle against the Niskaru and their Chaos brethren, as procedurally generated Chaos dungeons turn every region in Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning into a potential battlefield."

Interesting stuff, especially that bit about the procedurally developed dungeons. Are you looking forward to getting stuck into Fatesworn? Could you cram another Re-Reckoning playthrough in over the next two weeks or so? Bring your strongest build to the comments section below.
