Update (10/11/21): Following the launch of PlayStation Direct in Germany on Monday, Sony's online retail store is now live in the UK:

You can access the UK version of the site through the link. PS Direct will be rolling out to other European countries in the near future, and we expect the below list of territories to grow as time goes on.

Original Story: For many hopeful PS5 purchasers, PlayStation Direct has been one of the more reliable ways to buy one of Sony's sought-after consoles. As the name suggests, it's an online store through which the company sells PS5 consoles — and many other products — directly. While it's a great option, it's only been available in the USA, but it looks like PS Direct is finally coming to European territories.

A tweet from PlayStation UK states the store is starting to roll out in the region:

So, starting today with Germany, PS Direct will be coming to Europe at last. As the tweet says, other countries receiving access soon are the UK, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg, although there's currently no date attached. It sounds like more information will be coming soon, however.

It's good news, because up until this point, European PlayStation fans have had to stay hyper-aware of various online shops and when they'll next receive PS5 stock, something that's proven incredibly tricky — especially when the console sells out in minutes. While the Direct store doesn't guarantee you a PS5, being able to register your interest and join its queueing system at least gives you more of a fighting chance.

We'll update you when the UK version of the site arrives, but it seems like it's not too far away now. Are you glad to see PS Direct coming to Europe? Tell us in the comments section below.
