Techland is currently working on a PlayStation 5 patch for the original Dying Light game, it's been confirmed. The Polish studio today responded to fans on Twitter asking for the update to be a thing, requesting a 4K resolution and a smooth 60 frames-per-second when the title is played on a PS5 system. It said: "We're currently working on a next-gen patch for Dying Light 1 — more details coming in the future."
When running on a PS5 via backwards compatibility, Dying Light retains the same technical limitations as the native PS4 version: a 1080p resolution at 30 frames-per-second. A PS5 patch would bring both those aspects into the modern era; we can hope for 4K at 60 frames-per-second. The update would also be a nice little surprise for fans to check out while Dying Light 2 reaches the development finish line, which is now slated for February 2022.

At this point. There is no way the sequel is gonna live up to the original Dying Light, and the developers know it... They will continue to milk the success of this game dry, to off set the possibility of the sequel of not live up to success of the first game.
I would love a PS5 patch for Dying Light! I picked up a PS4 copy earlier this year and the game is still so much fun! I also pre-ordered Dying Light Platinum Edition for Switch, already been shipped. Can't wait to play it on my Switch oled!

I'm pretty sure this got a boost already on Xbox so good to see the same happening for PlayStation where I own a copy.
Had to play it on PC but would love to start over on my new PS5. Playing in 30fps is a no go for me. Hope it's around the corner.

While great, I'd rather that they focused all their time and people on DL2.
One of the first truly next-gen games I played last gen. While it had some rough edges it has stuck with me far longer than many other titles.
Wouldn’t mind a replay at some point, and play The Following. A patch, ideally 60fps will help

All the while wondering where the ***** I am and praying for a glimpse of the blacklight bathed doorway to my beloved high-rise 😏...
