The Sinking City developer Frogwares has confirmed its next detective title Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One will launch for PlayStation 5 on 16th November 2021. While a PS4 version is also in the works, the team needs more time to wrap up development, so it will arrive at least a few weeks after the PS5 edition has shipped. Frogwares has shared a seven-minute gameplay walkthrough to coincide with today's announcement, which we've embedded further down this article.

The team has also outlined pricing and pre-orders for the PS5 version, with the base game costing $44.99 and a Deluxe Edition coming in at $59.99. Every pre-order of the game will be treated to a free digital copy of the excellent Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments and the Victorian Starter Pack. This includes an exclusive quest, two in-game outfits, and 500 Manghirs (in-game currency).

If you cough up the extra cash for the Deluxe Edition, the season pass is said to contain the Saints & Sinners quest from day one. After launch, there'll also be the Mycroft Holmes questline that "pitches Sherlock against a mysterious shadow figure only known as M". All of this content will also be available for purchase separately upon release.

As for the delayed PS4 version, communications manager Sergey Oganesyan said: "We understand some players will be upset about this news, but we made the decision with you first in mind. Rest assured, we are not cancelling these versions. We only need more time and a little breathing room for our team to wrap these up properly. We are talking a few weeks at most, but this is still to be seen."
