Ghost of Tsushima PS5 PS4

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut was the best-selling game on the PlayStation Store across Europe last month, and was only beaten to first place in the US by Madden NFL 22. Sony shared the news on the PlayStation Blog, and what makes the stats even more impressive is that the chart doesn't take into account PS4 to PS5 upgrades. The expanded open world title topped the list in the EU and came second in the US based purely on full-price purchases.

On PS5, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut was one of Sony's £70/$70 titles, meaning those interested shifted top dollar in order to access the full package and thus push the Sucker Punch Productions title to the top of the list. The rest of the list is made up of quite a few new releases, such as Hades in third across the US and second in Europe, and Aliens: Fireteam Elite claiming fourth in both regions. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales was fifth in the US and seventh in Europe, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was 14th across the EU (didn't chart in the US), and Demon's Souls is 18th in both territories. The likes of Returnal and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are nowhere to be seen.

On PS4, Madden NFL 22 once again topped the chart in the US. However, Grand Theft Auto V was the best-selling digital title in Europe while it took second across America. Because of course it did. The top five for both territories also features Minecraft, Fall Guys, and Far Cry 5. It was business as usual for PSVR users as Beat Saber took first place in both territorial charts for August while Splitgate was once again the most popular free-to-play title.

Did you buy Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut at full price on PS5 like so many others? Or did you take advantage of the paid PS4 to PS5 upgrade? Let us know in the comments below.
