So, you've got your Midnight Black DualSense controller for PlayStation 5, but it doesn't match any of your other accessories. Not the end of the world, of course, but it would be nice to have everything match — including the PS5 itself. In the meantime, Sony has announced a new colour scheme for the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset.
Currently only available in PS5's default white and black colours, a new Midnight Black headset launches at retail in October at participating stores. It'll perfectly match your black PS5 controller, so if you're looking for that all-black style, this could be of interest. On the subject of the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, the latest PS5 firmware update includes new options for Sony's first-party cans. A new EQ feature gives you three presets that change the soundscape depending on what you want, and sliders let you customise the sound even further. Pretty cool, right?

I love these cans but my originals match my PS5 and my soon to be delivered Oled Switch.
@hypnotoad I am tempted to upgrade my Switch to the OLED just so it matches my PS5 but it feels a bit over indulgent. It will sure look sweet next the PS though! Decisions, decisions.....
The power of marketing, folks. It's just a pair of headphones with black plastic instead of white plastic but they make them look amazing.

They do look nice, although I'm very happy with my black and white ones. I just wish they were also bluetooth capable.
Just got the white ones for my birthday and love the colour so not disappointed . These look closer to my Golds that i had on PS4 (which actually were whisper it a little more comfortable to wear than the pulse headset.
Still disappointing that they require a bluetooth dongle to work so i cant use them on other devices
I went with the Arctis 7X. I wanted one wireless headset that was compatible with both Xbox and PlayStation.
These look really nice though, but I have to restrain myself from buying a pair because I really don't need 'em!

While I'd love to get the black headset, I can't justify spending the money when I already own the white one.
I do wish Sony would get around to announcing their own elite/pro version of the DualSense, or at minimum, do a partnership with someone for an official third party option and also release the attachment like they did with the DS4. It blows my mind that they have not done something by now with how well done Microsoft's Elite Controller is for XB.
I've got this headset (white one). Using it for my PC gaming at the moment and will be using it for PS5 when I get one. Very happy with it so far.
Word of warning: It did not work well with PS4 in my experience. Some games had scratching noises over the audio, and made the gunshots extremely loud in Apex Legends, for example. I've since sold my PS4 so maybe they've fixed it now.

Hehe he yah no. I will never buy another Sony audio product again after the pathetic laughable trash experience I had with the gold headset. one year in and the speaker on the left needed a few smacks and taps to work. Low quality products.

I'll have to get these to go with my Midnight black Dualsense controller. Hopefully they release a Cosmic red headset too. Can't wait for my white Switch Oled to be delivered, as others have said, it will look so great next to my PS5. Plus these headsets can be used wirelessly with the Switch when docked so it's a win win.
Had mine for a month and sold it. Average sound quality, poor mics and short battery life. No bluetooth support didn't help, either.
im looking for a new headset, I think I might just pick these up.

@hypnotoad haha I'm with you mate I think they sound great. I think people who are audiophiles tend to notice small things that most of us don't really notice. It's same with digital foundry stuff the go so technical for stuff that no one really noticed. I'm not saying that the other guy is wrong but yea they do sound great, and probably the ones he suggested sounds ok too but we wouldn't really notice massive difference, but if he wants to send me a pair to prove me wrong I'm more than willing to do that haha
@LewisHamilton well I haven't tried much headphones to be honest with you haha, have bought some cheap stuff and yea they were crap, so these to me sound great. Got the ones wth vr which were pretty good imo. And then these I think for me they sound great. @LewisHamilton actually I do have a 4k oled and yea I find it a bit better but again nothing on the scale of me going wow this is so much better, I bought it just because of the way people were saying how amazing they were and yes it's great but now when I go over to my brother's house who has a HDTV I'm not looking going wow that's horrible it's still a decent picture and can happily sit and watch it without thinking oh that's horrible.

I am a fan of HyperX headsets and I've got two of them I suppose there are other worthwhile alternatives (Steelseries, Turtle Beach etc), but the point is Pulse 3D is nowhere near them in terms of quality. I agree with the review of this headset here on Push Square. It did say it was a decent headset, but nothing too fancy.
@LewisHamilton well I never said I didn't see any difference, there is obviously a difference what I said was the way people go on saying it's a massive difference and how so much better it is, which is exactly my point I'm trying to make with the headphones, yes I would probably notice a slight improvement but nothing on the scale that you make out, especially for that much money, for the price I think the headphones are great. I would no way spend nearly 300 on headphones, if I ever see them for a 100 then I might bite, and was f they do sound as amazing as you say I will come back and actually say mate fair play you were right 😁
Neat! No interest though, already have a white headset that matches my PS5.
I just bought a pair of the Sony 1000 MX4 noise canceling headsets. They are expensive (a piece of me died paying the asking price) but the noise canceling alone is straight up eerie in how effective it is. And they come in black!
Also have the Gold, the Platinum, and the Pulse... they are good but just come nowhere close. I'm no audiophile, but I was blown away.

@LewisHamilton so I am looking on Amazon on the Sony wh1000 which ones are you recommending? There are 100mx3 mx4 and also 900 not going to buy them now but just wanted to know so if they drop off in price might bite, the 900 ones were 124 which is around where I would bite, but just wanted to know. I'm kinda more curious now to see the difference haha.
@Roqka So the 7X works with both consoles? It doesn't say on their website that it works with PS
@dennisforss I can confirm it works perfectly. Wireless and all. You just switch to "USB" on the dongle. I use it almost daily on my PS5.
7X version has a toggle on the dongle for both Xbox and USB whereas the 7P is USB only. So the 7X was a no-brainer for me with both systems.
@LewisHamilton Great thanks will keep a look out on the prices of them, if they were a bit cheaper I would buy them now, I'm actually really tempted just to get them now lol. Had a good run on the poker this month so might treat myself. So would you say that there is a massive difference between 900 and 1000 or 1000mx3 to 1000mx4 as I think I would probably bite on the 900, but if there is a great difference between 900 and 1000 might just get those I would probably be using them for music on my way to work too. At the moment I'm just using in ear Betron and they aren't very comfortable.

@LewisHamilton Great thanks for the info, think I will probably go for the 1000 version. Still going to have a think about it but pretty much on the verge of ordering one. I have contacted Amazon asking if I was unhappy and used them would I be able to return them and they said yes. So now it's just a matter of justifying it to myself. I think like @UnlimitedSevens said a piece of me will die when ordering them haha. But will have a think and I'm around 75% on buying them this week. Been a stressful week at work and need to treat myself although I did just buy deathloop the other day Haha.

@LewisHamilton Haha yea had a pretty stressful week at work so thought f it, would not normally spend that much on headphones, but you know what I have money saved, had a good month on poker which I play few hrs each night (trying to get to a stage where I am good enough to quit job and play for a living) so thought why not give them a shot and as you said if I start regretting buying them I can always send them back. And yes massive attack will definitely be going on but not before pink Floyd lol
@LewisHamilton well they have just arrived given a quick few songs a blast and yea fair play they are amazing 😁😁 I was wrong you do notice a massive difference lol. Quick question though just used them with ps5 how do I adjust the volume while they are connected to the controller I do the swipe up on headphones but doesn't seem to go higher or lower is it just one volume setting or something?

In all honesty though I am absolutely loving them the sound is Incredible all of Friday night I was sat in my room listing to music and loving it. Then had a few days playing the playstation with them after figuring out how to turn the volume up/down on playstation you were right it was on the home screen. It's brilliant just the little things you hear but so clear is amazing. Was working from home today so didn't get to take them out lol, but in the office tomorrow so will take them on a day out 😁. Yea they are definitely not going back even though they were expensive worth every penny, even though it hurt to pay that much on headphones. I can honestly say I was wrong in my previous comments when saying that you would not notice much difference 😁
