Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania's all-star lineup just keeps on growing. The remastered collection of fan-favourite entries in the series is coming to PlayStation 5 and PS4 in October, and it includes a number of guest stars from other SEGA properties as playable characters. Kiryu, Morgana, Sonic, and more will be unlockable in-game, so you'll have plenty of fun options for your ball-rolling escapades. The latest character to be revealed, however, is a little different.
The first non-SEGA character confirmed for the game is none other than Hello Kitty. The iconic white kitten certainly fits the bill with her cutesy look, as you can see in the brief trailer above.
Hello Kitty is also the first character that'll not be available in the standard game, instead sold separately as DLC. Available upon the game's launch, you'll need to cough up $4.99 for this feline friend.

Never was much of a fan of Hello Kitty, so I won’t be getting this DLC. Looks fun though.
No, ill be using Sonic for the puzzles and the big ape (aggo??) For monkey target.
Putting one of the biggest characters in Japanese popular culture(and most profitable worldwide) makes a lot of sense. Hello Kitty is adorable but $4.99 for that is a bit much lol.
Gotta pay for that licensing so I don't blame Sega having to charge.
£5? No F*cking way dude!!!
All the DLC seems a bit much, and is kind of putting me off getting the game at launch. I might wait for a sale before getting the base game.
€5 for a character? BLEEP off.
Hmm..needs more Aggretsuko...
@QBGaming12 and this is can be thought of slyly catering to western audiences and not the japanese audience, so it's on par with what everyone seems to think is happening. Hello Kitty isn't that popular in Japan compared to other Sanrio characters, but is the most popular in the US.
Hard pass, but not surprising she was added.
