Alan Wake Remastered was confirmed by Remedy Entertainment a little earlier this week, much to the delight of fans. However, it fell to Sony, during its PlayStation Showcase event, to debut the first trailer for the game.
Coming to Sony's platforms for the first time, Alan Wake Remastered brings back the beloved title with updated visuals, and it looks pretty good in this first footage. While it obviously shows its age to a degree, this will surely become the best way to play the game, whether you're a big fan or have never touched it before.
The trailer also confirms one important detail: the release date. The spooky thriller is less than a month away, launching for both PS5 and PS4 on 5th October. Are you excited for Alan Wake Remastered? Will this be your first time through it, or are you a returning fan? Stay out of the dark in the comments section below.

I’ll definitely be playing this for the first time. It’s going to be interesting to see the back story that I missed out on when playing the Control AWE DLC.
Looking forward to it but it doesn’t look like the American Nightmare DLC is included. What’s that all about?
Its worth noting its also not going to break the bank. £25 preorder on amazon. Always meant to give this game a go and now I shall lol
I bought a 360 back then to play this one, amazing game. I'm not the kind of gamer that plays more than once the same game... But maybe...
Every time a remaster comes up I’m gonna type this.
Enough is enough lets focus resource and time on new games, dam sodding feed up with having a new generation console playing ten year old games etc I played ten years ago
I might as well be ten years younger the way this generation is going, boring boring boring.
sweet il be sure to grab my flask to!
i cant wait!
@fR_eeBritney - All the DLC is included. AW's American Nightmare wasn't DLC but a standalone game that released years after Alan Wake. Weird it's missing but it really isn't part of the main game.
It lands between Lost Judgement and FarCry6 - that is a bit rough as I already own/played it on PC.
Glad to see a $29 price point. $60 for a rehash is crazy.
The trailer reminded me how bad I found the voice acting the first time I played it. I was considering playing this when it released but the trailer didn’t excite me at all and has actually turned me off the idea. I might be a minority there.
Press X to yell Alice
Preordered this while the PS event was still happening. I’m intimidated to add another game to the quarter, but it’s Alan Wake!
For a second there i thought she said Mr Wick.............
Always wanted to play this.
Been playing Control alot recently and with how much I am liking this one there is a high chance I will check this game out since it is from the same developers, Alan Wake always looked so interesting to me, just never got around to playing it.
October 5th eh…
I'm hoping the rumors - only rumors - that Alan Wake might be a Plus title end up being true. I own it on PC, played partway through until I got stuck, and might just pick it up on PS5 to give another go. If it's a Plus title, I'm definitely diving in.
Looks old as hell, no chance of some graphical polish.
@blah01 They added a bit of graphical polish. It looks a bit better than the PC version in some places... If you expecting a remake style upgrade in the graphic, this ain't it.
Yea looks old. Remasters are ticking me off, The Medium for around the same price in a Halloween sale may fill the void
I enjoyed this waaaay more than Control.
I'd rather buy this again and replay it than play Control.
Jaaaaaaaaason, oh sorry, Aaaaaaaaaaaalice
im looking forward to this one!
@SystemAddict the next game in the dark pictures anthology, house of ashes, should be out for Halloween too and is the same price point
@Rob_230 that looks good
I might play this. Back when I owned both consoles it was fun on xbox.
@fR_eeBritney Also surprised they didn't include American Nightmare.
@WizzNL How was AW: AN crap if I may ask?
@Shigurui I never realized American Nightmare was standalone, makes sense now sadly.
Remaster looks dope, I'll gladly buy this day one if I can afford it at the time.
No american nightmare included? 30 bucks? No thank you.
