Survival horror RPG Chernobylite, originally scheduled to release at the start of September, has been pushed back until 28th September. The publisher, All In! Games, cited “unforeseen issues with the console build” as the reason for the short postponement. “We want to make sure we always deliver projects that are in excellent shape and pushing Chernobylite’s console release date back a few weeks will allow us to accomplish that,” boss Piotr Żygadło said.
A native PS5 port is not due until next year, but the title will of course be playable with backwards compatibility on the next-gen console. A short delay is naturally not the end of the world, and while this does push it in closer in proximity to some of this year’s heavier hitters, at least you won’t have to wait too long to enter the Exclusion Zone.

Well hey at least it won't be a buggy mess thank goodness for that
i wish developers to abandon cross-gen games asap but i don't see that happen any time soon.
@zebric21 I was gonna tell you that you're selfish for wanting games only on your new & shiny console, but then I realised that I'm being selfish for wanting new game to be coming on ps4 and therefor not use the ps5 full potential.
I guess we are all selfish.
@zebric21 This game was developed for PC first and foremost. Why wouldn’t it be cross-gen when it’s already been optimised to run on such a wide variety of PCs?
@nessisonett i'm not talking about this game specifically..i tried horizon zero dawn with 60frames and the game even now looks brilliant. I also believe in generations..no pun intended...and games like bloodborne and hzd wouldn't be the same with ps3 in mind.
@lolwhatno we can still game with our ps4..yet we can game even better with the ps5 if developers try to use the new hardware.
@zebric21 Then why would you comment on this article?
@nessisonett cause a developer prioritized again ps4 over ps5 and it's getting boring.
@zebric21 No I meant that I want the new and cool looking games on my ps4 while you want it exclusive to the ps5 so that it can use its full potential.
Off-topic but this article just reminded me... where the heck is Quantum Error & Scorn? Oh and the Cuphead DLC for that matter?
I’ll be waiting. The only ps4 games I play are ones that will not be released on Ps5. Replaying old games and the like
Wow if only something like Cyberpunk did this...
I find any game about the Chernobyl tragedy tasteless.
I guess I'll wait for the PS5 version.
@lolwhatno Still how many PS5 versus PS4 are there.
The next gen is here….
Sadly the last gen is still around too. Prioritise the current gen and scale down later this is technology folks; let’s crack on
@hypnotoad why?
@Flaming_Kaiser The number of ps4 out there is way higher than the number of ps5 so that's why devs release games on ps4. And also sony said they will continue supporting the ps4 for the 3 next years.
@lolwhatno Sony always supports their systems really long i can appreciate that.
C'mon, gotta start prioritizing PS5 development. The PS4 ports are what's supposed to come later. Oh well, game looks interesting but I guess I won't be playing it until next year.
Will be all over this next year. Love the STALKER/Metro vibe…& setting.
It's not up to game Devs to push next gen. They are focused on where they make the best return on investment. It's up to the platform owners and as long as Sony is making cross gen games 3rd parties are going to follow suit.
@zebric21 it’s mostly because they realise that over 80% of PS5 owners are the truly selfish ones, hoarding as many as they can as soon as they can in order to sell them for over triple what it’s worth. It’s still happening.
@JustPlainLoco Quantum Error is still in development, while the Cuphead DLC and Scorn are still slated for vague 2021 releases.
