oh no. Just pre-ordered the physical copy on PS5 and it comes in a "later date"...why? I thought they release both edition at the same time. So i need to buy the game twice if i want to play it on release date:(

no demo on ps4?

@Tatarimokke I have a physical PS5 copy pre-ordered and it has a release date of 8/27/21? Also, I paid $39.99 and the article states it’s $19.99?

I think the article is mistaken and only the PS4 version is releasing at a later date. I could also see the PS4 version costing $19.99 compared to the $39.99 PS5 version.

@Squanch The game costs $19.99 digitally, not physically.

@LiamCroft Just curious, where are you seeing the price for the digital version? The only thing I can find on the US PS store is the free demo but no pre-order option? I google searched it and can’t find digital prices neither.

@Squanch It comes from a press release. The game isn't available for pre-order on the PS Store yet.

Just pre-ordered the PS5 disc version for £25.85. Looking forward to playing this

It looks good. Jury is obviously out on how well-executed it is, but at least the devs seem to have some idea of the appeal of PS1-era survival horror game design, unlike Bloober Team. Having watched some of the demo footage already, I also love the cute RE nod at the beginning with the disclaimer about the game containing scenes of explicit violence and gore.

If this turns out well, then between this and Fatal Frame 5, survival horror fans are going to be eating well for the first time in years.

I’m so getting this. I love third person Resident Evil. Resident Evil Revelations 2 is my favorite RE game.

@Steel76 Demos usually don’t do the final product justice. Many people didn’t like RE: Village demo and when the game came out and people actually play the real thing, they like it more than the demo.

How long before it's a PS Plus game?

@Ilovecoffee this is a fixed camera angle game, not like RE Revelations which is over the shoulder. It plays like Code Veronica (fixed angle, sometimes moving camera), with a setting like the original Resident Evil.

Played the demo and it's a nice piece of nostalgia, but the intentionally stiff controls and frankly rubbish old school resi-style shooting are an acquired taste.

@tselliot I'd be surprised if it makes it to Plus any time soon, it's such a niche game genre these days.

@Barryburton97 I’m willing to give it a chance anyways. I was thinking about playing older RE games like RE Zero, which also have fixed camera angles, so I might as well try this out as well. It does looks old school but with a modern twist

Gave it a shot last night, enjoyed it really feels like old RE, voice acting is dreadful, this "fear" they keep going on about didn't really get me, I mean you just die if you walk into a dark hall way ?? Enemies are a bit tanky, they also all have ranged attacks..what? Also takes some time to re learn tank controls with that camera type. But I'm willing to give it a shot, it's not full price not even close so why not, help out the devs, so maybe in the future they will make something top class if this game is recieved well

I was rather impressed with the level of detail and quality of the environment but then you look at the main characters and they look like rejects from clay fighters 63 1/3 so that’s a little confusing, but overall I really dug it and look forward to when ever the physical release happens.

I like the demo and it definitely scratches that survival horror itch.
That voice acting though....yikes.
I can't knock the graphics becau it is a small team making it.
One thing I do want them to fix is those frame drops during gameplay/movies scenes.
