Space Jam: A New Legacy may not be the slam dunk 90s kids had been hoping for, but you’ll be able to assemble your own version of the Tune Squad in NBA 2K21 as part of new season, Out of This World. New packs in MyTeam will give you the opportunity to pull special LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, and Klay Thompson cards. There’s also a Weekly Challenge which will see you face off against the superstars in Triple Threat.
That’s not all: new threads inspired by the movie are available in MyCareer, including slides, kits, and hoodies. It’s all pretty neat crossover content if you’re looking forward to the film, but do be aware that you’ll need to load up on VC if you plan to cop any of it.

NBA2K makes money off the new SpaceJam movie if it was celebrated they would give the costumes away.
Space jam 2 is horrible.the first one with Michael Jordan is way better.make me miss the 1990s even more.and jordan is still the g.o.a.t 👑.word up son
I haven’t seen the original but I thought Space Jam 2 was great honestly. Funny in parts and quite moving in others. Had a great message too - (for kids) be yourself and (for parents) don't force your kids to be something they're not, love them for who they are.
I took my Nephew (9) to see the movie and he enjoyed it as much as I did. Left the theatre with huge smiles on our faces.
No idea why some people went in expecting the next Citizen Kane. It was just a bit of fun and succeeded in that respect imo.
The critics aren’t always right.
You spelt advertising wrong 🤣
The outfit designs have been growing on me ever since the initial reveal.
@fR_eeBritney
Gives me even more reason to watch this with my son..His mother would definitely need to see this some day
When I read the headline I assumed the Looney Tunes characters were being added as playable characters.
Yawn.
@fR_eeBritney people probably went in having seen the first movie. Which is a classic.
So you can’t really be to harsh to judge others hating on it without context
@Jacko11 Oh I know, not judging anyone but the movie is being review-bombed on IMDb because some people seemingly don’t like Lebron James. Or still idolise Michael Jordan and feel this movie is somehow disrespectful of his legacy 🤷
I don’t know much about Lebron James tbh other than he plays professional Basketball. But he seems like a cool guy in the movie. Doesn’t take himself too seriously. I’ve seen a lot of complaints about his acting... I don’t think it’s fair to expect an Oscar winning performance from him. It’s really not that serious a movie.
Plan on watching the original movie next weekend but I can’t see it changing my opinion of the sequel. I’m not saying it’s the greatest movie ever made but it’s nowhere near as bad as people are making it out to be.
@Jacko11 Let's be real, the first wasn't spectacular either. The reason most people remember it as a classic is because of childhood nostalgia, but it was panned on release.
@fR_eeBritney Michael Jordan's acting in the original was quite wooden, so that's a funny complaint.
Anyway, the first one was a guilty pleasure. This sequel, I've not seen yet but it looks very Wreck It Ralph 2/Ready Player One, which isn't what I was expecting from Space Jam but okay, I'll give it a go next week probably.
@Jacko11 @Orpheus79V @fR_eeBritney I think the reason people idolised the original is when you are kids things are more magical. When these grown ups now watch this sequel it can never live up to the original in their minds and they are biased by politics or other things as adults.
I watched the original with my kids the other week (it’s either on Amazon Prime or Netflix) in anticipation for taking them to see this over the summer and you can see the Basketball players acting isn’t all that great, but the movie is still special and my kids enjoyed it as much as I did at their age.
I’m assuming the new movie will be similar to that. I don’t think it will be as good in my mind but still enjoyable. My kids might like it more because it’s modern. But I doubt it will be the disaster some are saying.
I think they just have wrong expectations or their opinion is biased because of Lebron’s politics/bowing to China or the fact he’s on a rival team or whatever they don’t like about him.
It’s funny how ‘mature adults’ are acting like children over a kids movie. But it happens all the time these days I guess and on both sides of the political isle. We should just enjoy the movie and let people have fun.
The marketing for this movie has been atrocious, everywhere I go there’s just LeBron James figures, tune squad jerseys, McDonald’s toys, a tie in game on xbox, a bloody candy crush saga collab and now this? Guess I have to see the movie now haha
People really need to rip off the nostalgia glasses before offering these takes. I watched the first Space Jam in preparation for the new one and it’s the same amount of average yet innocent fun, just that one is coated in 90’s nostalgia and the other in obviously more current pop culture saturation.
tl;dr who cares! Just enjoy the movies or give it a rest!
I rewatch Space Jam pretty frequently. One of my favorite movies from childhood, and it still holds up. What helps is that the adult-oriented human bits are just as fun, in their own way, as the cartoon stuff, which is obviously aimed more toward children. The star-struck baseball team trying to console Michael Jordan after he messes up in his first game is genuinely funny. As is every moment will Bill Murray. As is the fallout from the NBA players losing their talent. Not a stone-cold classic like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but still a fun film from beginning to end.
And boy, that movie makes me miss big-budget hand-drawn animation. The animation work is just gorgeous. Modern CG stuff just can't measure up, no matter how detailed it gets.
Watching the new one tonight. My hopes aren't high, but I guess we'll see how it goes.
I just watched Space Jam: A New Legacy, really confused as to why people are bashing on it.
I thought the film was funny and worth the time spent.
Like every pro-athletes in America today Lebron James is a very unlikable person for being Anti-American. Am going to spend my money elsewhere than waste my money on products like this.
@Kienda It's definitely undeniable that LeBron doesn't live up to Michael Jordan. Both in the court and out of it when he's speaking about world affairs. MJ was an icon that everyone liked, even I knew about him before I first watched it as a British kid, and basketball isn't that big here. LeBron can't compete with that, not even Kobe could reach Jordan's level but he got close.
Regardless of quality, the original Space Jam did admittedly have the better star power.
@KidBoruto I liked the scene when PORKY PIG started rapping.
