It's that time again, Tales of Arise fans. Bandai Namco has released the game's fifth character trailer, which details another key party member. Kisara's the star in this one, a disciplined knight who uses a huge shield and hammer in battle. As you might expect, Kisara can block incoming blows with her massive bulwark, before unleashing deadly counterattacks with her weapon.
Her fighting style is a little slower than some of the game's other playable characters, but she still looks satisfying to use.
Will you be holding your ground with Kisara? Block anything and everything in the comments section below.

Love her design.
Kisara looks bad-a**. Some of these moves look like there's gonna be a Tales of fighting game spin-off down the line or somethin'.
Very excited for this game! I wonder if it ends up getting delayed, even for a few weeks. hmmm
Gotta say, for someone with a huge shield, she sure fight so lightly in that combat gameplay. It's like her shield is made of cardboard or something but hey, it's a fantasy game.
@strawhatcrew After seeing granblue, I hope it's by Arcsystem.
My favorite character in the game, there’s nothing more cooler than a knight with big shield, I hope I can change her hammer (looks like a mace) to sword 😃
Really looking forward to this. Seems like a rebirth for the series. It used to be a genuinely groundbreaking series with the earlier games but really started treading water not long after Symphonia. First game I'll be buying in what feels like a long time (by my standards anyway 😅).
I’ve never played a Tales game and maybe it’s par for the course but her voice acting in particular looks pretty godawful. I thought it was the whole thing at first but the other woman at the end didn’t sound quite so awful.
I don’t mean to only trash this, the reason I watched the video is cuz the character design looked cool as hell and I love me a shield wielding hero.
I thought the voice acting was fine. Not criticizing or anything, but I don't expect Sony exclusive caliber voice acting in JRPGs. If you get it, I consider it a huge bonus.
Not sure which character I'll use, but she does look pretty cool at least. Really looking forward to this game regardless though, as it's right up there with Kena as my most anticipated game of the rest of the year (especially with Horizon likely being delayed).
I love the look of this tales game, it really does look like an evolution of the series. I hope they take a lot from the Xillia series (combat)
@Grahamthecracker Her voice doesn’t match the character in the slightest. Her light build gives off someone with a slightly higher pitched voice. The voice actor is decent, but she (or he!) would have been better suited to someone else.
Also, uh, why was that giant enemy just sitting there, stun locked? People are calling this an evolution of the series why?
TALES NINJA APPROVED
@BloodNinja They're finally using a new engine and it seems they also changed the combat a bit to make it more streamlined.
@Athrum I guess what I don’t understand is why the enemies barely fight back? In this footage, the monsters basically just sat there, and they attacked the player only 2-3 times.

@BloodNinja Also confused as to why the enemies just sat there and weren't fighting back.
Hopefully the finished product doesn't share this.
@KidBoruto Yeah, it’s a pretty looking game, but I’m hoping the gameplay is better than what was shown.
@BloodNinja Only time shall tell, we should be getting more gameplay coverage closer to release.
