Bonkers mechanical French revolution RPG Steelrising has received a new trailer ahead of its planned June 2022 release window on PlayStation 5, and it continues to look utterly absurd. The out-there action focuses primarily on combat, which has clearly taken a few cues from Bloodborne – we’re especially fond of the fan-like shield that the protagonist uses to deflect firepower.
“King Louis XVI’s automata army is terrorizing the citizens of Paris,” the blurb reads. “Join the Revolution as Aegis and fight against this reign of terror to try and change the course of history!” Spiders Studio has clearly allowed its imagination to run wild with this release, which is exciting to say the least – it looks early, but there’s definitely promise here.

Like a mixture of Devil May Cry/Bloodborne and the robots from Dishonored 2!

Great to have a release date. And I was happy I had a game penciled in for my PS5 all the way to Jan 2022 with Elden Ring

I LOVE Greedfall so I will be getting this.
But I’m super nervous if they ditch the dialogue based RPG game in favor of a combat oriented RPG like Bloodborne. Can’t have Greedfall like jankiness in a game like that.
Looks like a kinda Bloodborne meets devil may cry set in some kind of steam punk fueled french Revolution. Will keep my eye on this.
Looks interesting. Fighting looks slow and stilted. This should suit my playing style.
