Newly announced action RPG Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin actually has a 'Trial Version' out right now on PlayStation 5, despite the fact that the full game is set to release in 2022. The PS5 exclusive demo sounds reasonably beefy, offering a section of the game where you can sample the combat, as well as protagonist Jack's different character classes.
However, take note that the demo will only be available until the 24th June. In other words, play it while you can. Its download size weighs in at 11.3GB.

wow ok a nice suprise.
might give it a go.
I just tried in the US... nothing came up.
Edit/ nm, just saw it.
Hoping this plays better than it looks.
Never seen such large amounts of cringe worthy testosterone :/
I’ll try the demo. But really that trailer was awful. Also, Jack? That’s the protag’s name? I mean, it’s no Chadley but that’s a pretty average name.
But does the demo have enough CHAOS?
Final Fantasy Nioh 🤔 hopefully you can make a character. Guy's too chad for me
@nessisonett Jack, Ash, and Jed are the three characters' names. If you can believe it.
@ShogunRok Ugh… Jack, Ash and Jed sounds like the name of a Saturday morning cartoon.
This looks a lot like Devil May Cry. It always has silly dialogue and similar gameplay.
This looks awful but hey maybe it is fun
@FatalBubbles It actually does look like Devil May Cry if DMC was developed by a race of poop people.
@JechtUltima The game is literally Chaos incarnate.
I am a huge Nioh fan so I am not worried about the gameplay but the way that trailer was edited together was very cringe XD
@ShogunRok Ah yes, I forgot about Jack, Ash and Jed, those characters who clearly existed in the world of Final Fantasy 1 before those medieval blokes living in castles.
@Juanalf I’m surprised at the hate for this game. I thought it looked very fun.
@ShogunRok Srsly. Jed? Lol. No one called Jed was ever shouting about Chaos.
After Clive in FF16, i think someone at Square needs to start thinking again about imposing names for their leads in FF games
My PS5 just says the data is corrupt when I launch the demo, and tells me to delete and reinstall. I’ve done this 4 times and rebooted my console multiple times. Anyone else having any luck?
Will buy day one just because one of the main characters' names is Jed.
Finally the Amish community will be represented in video games. Talk about inclusion!
@FatalBubbles Ergh... no this looks more souls than DMC, and DMC is actually cool. This is very cringy.
Corrupt data 🤷🏼♂️, chaos indeed.
Its like we stepped back in time to 2006, when Japanese devs were trying to figure out what Westerners like. What's next, a sequel to Bomberman act zero?
@Nem So the combat is strategic, you die often and have to restart??
I feel like any game with a sword is just souls now to people. This combat looks pure hack and slash.
@FatalBubbles It's slower and more strategic from the looks of it, yes.
Take a look at DMC5 again and you will see the clear speed difference in the action.
@Nem Yes it’s slower but they never block, they’re continuously attacking.
I honestly see nothing souls like besides melee combat.
@FatalBubbles They do.
They parry, they dodge and they block. Watch the trailer again.
Footage of combat against garland shows it the most.
Corrupt data… tried multiple times on 2 different stores…
@Nem We will have to agree to disagree here. When I think Souls game I think well Dark Souls, Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, etc.
If I would have played Bloodborne like they attacked in the trailer I’d be dead in seconds.
I also don’t see you dying and restarting a level or it being overly difficulty like DS.
Maybe I’m completely wrong but I didn’t get that vibe at all from the trailer. I wouldn’t think the Ninja Gaiden team would stray so far from what they were used to making either.
@FatalBubbles They have not revealed that kind of design details yet, but the combat is definitly souls inspired. That much is clear. That feels nothing like playing DMC or ninja gaiden, which is way faster and more frenetic.
I will maybe let you know that team ninja have not done a new ninja gaiden since the ps3 days and their latest 2 games were Ni-oh (1 + 2), which are souls like games. That is literally what they have been doing this last gen. It's completely in character.
@Nem Man I hope you’re wrong. The combat doesn’t remind me of a Souls game but if that’s what it is then it’s a no go for me.
I’ll be trying the demo soon!
The demo is corrupted anyway.
Demo is broken lol, getting data corrupt.
@ShogunRok You mean the PS2 game Chaos Legion if thats the case im 100% in. 😁
Demo is broken unfortunately...hopefully Square will fix this issue ASAP.
@FatalBubbles I hope so too, cause i dislike Souls games.
@Nem Did you try the demo? I had no issues until the boss and it destroyed me. Crazy difficulty spike.
I initially played on normal. I tried it on easy and breezed through it. Would have liked something in between the two in terms of difficulty. 🤷🏼♂️
@FatalBubbles I just did. Didn't have time to go far, but it's what i expected. Pretty much a souls game with an FF paint.
I died on purpose to see what happened. Seems to lower mp or something.
Can't say i liked it. Job system seems interesting but the combos reminded me of monster hunter and souls.
The difficulty didn't seem bad, but i only fought goblins. The problem was more boredom cause i was always repeating the same combo and an R2 finish.
Will give it another go when i got time.
