After years of rumours, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have officially announced Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Coming to both PlayStation 5 and PS4, it's an action adventure game in which you play Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, in a space-spanning adventure with the usual rag-tag team: Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax, and Gomorrah.
It's a single player game, but it looks as though teaming up with your allies will be a big component of gameplay. Combat looks to combine the abilities of all five heroes, while you'll need to make story choices to decide the path you'll take through the game. It also appears that your relationship with your comrades will shift over time; if you make decisions they like or dislike, their attitude toward you may change in kind.
The game is scheduled for release on 26th October 2021, so it's just a few short months away. Are you excited for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy? Tell us in the comments section below.

Jeez, that was the longest trailer ever.
I am Groot
I'm not sure what to say after the ***** show that Avengers was this looks even worse.
I cannot express my excitement for this into words. Everything about that was phenomenal.
I’m gonna ask you this one time.
Where is Gamora?
Maybe it was because I was watching this on my phone but this game looks like it needs to be delayed. The game play looked rough for something coming out in October.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Stunt Doubles The Game
I'm honestly not sure if it looks good or not.
@fR_eeBritney Isn't she's the one in white armour?
I'm surprised they gave the job to SquareEnix after Avengers.
I guess that was successful, but it's not popular.
This actually looks...not bad?
Like a solid game that's already made a stronger impression on me than Avengers did?
@fR_eeBritney
why is gamora
Back to the game, this looks good. However, I’ve played avengers (different studio I know) so here’s hoping lessons have been learned and this game isn’t complete and total meh.
Weirdly looks good. Eidos Montreal are pretty decent though so I'm intrigued.
@eltomo
Probably find it was in the deal struck with Disney a few years ago I.e two games to be produced. Disney gets paid even if the games a commercial flop.
@fR_eeBritney Hi there friend.
I´ll give one even better: What is Gamora? 😜
The game actualy looks pretty promissing.
And it´s a singleplayer game? With awesome banter?
I´m in. Love this misfit group.
Cheers, stay safe and happy gaming to us all
I enjoyed The Avengers as a single player experience, so I think this will be better because it’s all they’re focusing on. I’m looking forward to it.
I thought the game looked really good, put a smile on my face for most of the presentation.
I'm shocked it's due out at the end of this year though, thought we'd be looking at a 2022 release. Hopefully they're not rushing it out in order to avoid both Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad.
I'll need to see more before I get excited about this. I'm not certain this looks anything other than average at the moment.
Looks good... For now. But give it a chance, the microtransactions and forced online only hasn't been added yet. Which they will be. We all remember how good the Avengers reveal was.
Everything about it from visuals all the way through to gameplay just looks mediocre at best. We'll see in October I guess.
@Voltan That's usually how she looks in the comics, the movies really changed how she usually looks.
Impressed enough to keep an eye on it. Curious to see how in-depth the choice system goes.
I hope we get the 'choice' to cut that silly little beard off Rocket.
This actually looks good though I'm not sure about starlords look, as well as rockets "beard". Gamora's design looks fantastic though.
Possibly my favourite reveal from E3 this year based on the fact I thought it was gonna be Avengers reskinned on colourful planets, from the gameplay that's been show it looks to have 100 times more depth that Cap & Co have.
This looks pretty good to be honest!Looking forward to it!
I dunno. I feel like i've been through this journey with the films already.
Why couldn't they have made a new Deus Ex instead? :/
The Game I so wanted the Avengers to be but with a different Marvel collective...
Thank god this isn't like Avengers. Single player all the way!
Two things: First this looks true to the characters, which is good.
Second, holy heck this looks kinda rough for a game that comes out so soon...animations, graphics do look a bit on the weak side to me. Also that "command" menu right on top of the enemy is super intrusive and annoying
It looks kinda nice to me i loved the music.
That actually looks pretty good. Making decisions as Star Lord that affects your teams opinions sounds accurate, challenging, and like a great way to really give the story some weight and power if done right.
Nice, I can't wait for it.
I am really excited for this game, loved the GOTG in their 2 movies and the MCU crossovers etc.
Hopefully the game is polished better in time for release though.
@Voltan that joke really went over your head didn’t it 😂
I really dislike Rocket's beard look.
@fR_eeBritney
I will go one better , what is Gamora?
No really, what is that?
I just saw the 11+minute gameplay, the character look and outfits are slightly jarring, like cosplay from someone with a vague memory from having seen the film once on release.
@Voltan sorry, it’s a quote from Infinity War 😁
@fR_eeBritney @Jacko11 Definitely looks like it lol
@eltomo This game was being developed at the same time as Avengers, that's why
@AnotherForge Did you actually play it/is that your own opinion, or are you just jumping on the internet hate bandwagon?
The main campaign was actually quite good, it was just the endgame which was lacking and empty. The DLC has been good too, actually adding new characters that play differently and new storylines to play through, which is worth highlighting even more considering they've all been free so far.
Personally don't think all the hate for the game is warranted, but so it goes on the internet. Lots of bandwagoners.
