As if we needed further proof that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be an utter delight, developer Ember Lab has shown off a little more of the PlayStation 5 and PS4 adventure. As part of the Tribeca Game Spotlight, the game received a good few minutes in the spotlight, and we got to see some all-new footage — including gameplay.
Josh and Mike Grier talk us through how their studio jumped from film and animation work to building a video game. Between their conversation about Kena's development, new gameplay is shown off, highlighting exploration, combat, and using the adorable Rot creatures to solve puzzles.
The animation is understandably wonderful, and it's visually stunning, especially seen running at 60 frames-per-second. We really can't wait to get our hands on this one — it looks like it'll be a jolly good time.

If anyone doesn't know yet Ember Labs did The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask: Terrible Fate Fan Film back In 2016.
I cant wait for Kena to come out !! XD
This game looks amazing, could well be a sleeper hit.
This was the one game I was most hyped for when the first ps5 games were shown.
Please please please bring this to physical media. I want this on ps4 but want it on disc.
This as well as Ratchet and Clank are the 2 PS5 games I've been dying to play.
Could be a Disney Animation (Raya and the Last Dragon). Didn’t realise it was coming to PS4 too. Can’t wait.
Looks absolutely amazing. Sony should acquire them.
I was let down by the Biomutant reviews, hopefully this one fairs better.
@Greifchen. I agree i dont know wtf sony is waiting for.bluepoint games.housemarque.come on sony.word up son
@rjejr
Wait, what? The reviews let you down? How about the game itself? Did you play it?
This and Stray are the 2 games I'm most hyped for this year (hopefully)
This looks like it will truly be something special. And being put together with the type of confidence you wouldnt expect from a new developer. I cant wait to try this out!
This does look very good but I'm concerned about the gameplay after seeing this video.
Ugh, I love everything about this! And I love that Tribeca is doing this in-depth coverage of games. It's the part of the industry and the culture that deserves elevation.
Looks like it could be decent but at this point it's impossible to know. They've never made a game, and marketing is unreliable.
I hope it's great, though!
@Boldfoxrd The team hopes to explore physical editions once they have completed the game for launch, as they want to use their limited bandwidth (it's a tiny team) for balancing & polish to deliver the best experience first.
@KippDynamite Yeah I am a little concerned too about them not doing a game before. The graphics and story look awesome but I hope they were able to sort out gameplay.
have this bad boy pre ordered
@NorrinRadd Why would I play it while it's still $60 - though I may have seen it on sale for $40 - if the reviews let me now?
I'm currently playing Monster Hunter Rise, Bowser's Fury, and HW: AoC, it's not like I need another game to play right now. Certainly not one were the reviews weren't all that positive. What's the point of reading reviews if I'm not going to use the information?
@rjejr something tells me you missed the joke.
I don't know if it's only me but it seems they downgraded the visuals. It still looks great though.
I think this looks incredible, including the gameplay. Visuals look just as good to me.
@naruball Yeah, didn't see no joke so I definitely missed it.🤷 Only gaming related joke I know is "7 out of 10, too much water". 😁
Once Deathloop got delayed, this became my next most anticipated game
@ArcadeHeroes Same here love Ember Labs work, though I still need to watch Majora's Mask: Terrible Fate.
(waiting for them to port Majora's Mask 3DS to Switch)
