Trails Localisation PS4

Well well well, what do we have here? Ahead of Falcom's big 40th anniversary event tomorrow (or tonight, depending on your time zone), it looks like the Epic Games Store has leaked some major Western announcements.

The PC storefront confirms that four Trails titles will be localised. This includes the two Crossbell games, which were recently remastered for PlayStation 4 in Japan. The official English names for the adventures of Lloyd Bannings are Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure. The former is slated for 2022, while the latter is down for 2023.

Then there's Trails into Reverie — the localised name for the massive RPG that takes place after Trails of Cold Steel IV. This is the latest mainline title in the series, and wraps up several nation-sized storylines with a gigantic cast of characters. This is listed as another 2023 release.

And finally, we have The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. This one's something of a spinoff, and has little to do with the core Trails series. It was originally a PSP game, but this is a full remaster. Again, this is a 2023 release according to Epic.

Now here's the thing: we don't have confirmation of whether these games are coming to PlayStation. Fortunately, we'll know for sure soon enough, since the aforementioned Falcom concert is happening within the next 24 hours.

Right now we can only speculate, but we don't see why these games wouldn't come to PS4. All the Cold Steel titles are available on Sony's last-gen system, and NIS America is still the publisher. If any of these games are confirmed for PlayStation, we'll be sure to keep you posted.

It's also worth noting that the 2022 and 2023 release windows may only apply to the PC versions of these games. Previous titles published by NIS America have come to PS4 months before their PC ports, but again, we'll have to wait and see.
