We've been hearing all about how amazing Hades is for months and months now, but it's finally time for us to play the darn thing. Supergiant Games' latest launched on PC and Switch in September of last year, and it's gone on to receive countless awards for its compelling rogue-like gameplay and storytelling elements. The studio, thank the gods, has finally announced it's heading to PlayStation 5 and PS4 on 13th August.

We probably don't need to tell you all that much about this game, but here it is in a nutshell if you're not aware. The game is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you play Zagreus, the son of Hades. Your quest is to escape the realm of the dead, but randomly generated maps and numerous enemies stand in your way. You'll use a variety of weapons, special abilities, and godly powers to attempt your escape, but in between runs, you'll also get to know the various Greek deities and engage in an evolving narrative. The PS5 version of the game will run at 4K and 60 frames-per-second, while on PS4, it's the same frame rate at 1080p.

By the way, publisher Private Division is bringing Hades to retail on PS5 and PS4 on the same date, if you prefer physical copies. One final thing to note: if you buy the game on PS4 --- physically or digitally — you'll be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
