LittleBigPlanet Sackboy 1

The war in the LittleBigPlanet community continues, forcing the popular series’ servers offline once again. Earlier in the year, we reported how one fan believed to be frustrated with the franchise’s future had launched a DDOS attack on LittleBigPlanet 3, causing an outage for upwards of six weeks. Now, a user is claiming a #LittleBigVictory after injecting offensive messages into other peoples’ games.

It’s worth stressing that this isn’t a case of said user uploading unpleasant content within the title; instead, they appear to have gained access to the release’s notifications system, which they’re using to share the controversial comments.

Understandably, Sony has had to take the servers offline, and shared the following statement:

Of course, all this means even more downtime for a franchise that still has a dedicated and passionate community trying to enjoy it. The platform holder does appear to be committed to fixing the problems, which is ultimately a good thing – after all, it’d be a real shame if these ongoing attacks prompted PlayStation to consider cutting its losses.
