May 2021's PlayStation Plus games have been revealed. As per usual, subscribers get access to one PS5 title, and two PS4 games.

On PS5, we've got chaotic car-smashing sim Wreckfest. This is the PS5 version of the game, which originally released on PS4 in 2019. It's worth noting that you'll only be eligible to download the PS5 version of this game as part of your PS Plus subscription. Nevertheless, the upgrades should be make a massive difference to the experience, as our original PS4 Wreckfest review concluded:

If you’re looking to bring destruction and pandemonium to motorsports, Wreckfest will suit your needs to a tee. The experience is let down by technical grievances far too often, but what’s left after the fact is more than worth your time.

Then, on PS4, there's bombastic first-person shooter Battlefield V (which excels in multiplayer), and open world survival title Stranded Deep. This is what we had to say in our Battlefield V PS4 review back at launch:

Battlefield V is going to be a great game, of that we’re sure, but due to a number of glaring omissions at launch and one too many glitches, the final product isn’t there just yet. Series veterans are sure to feel at home with what’s on offer now, though, thanks to a solid multiplayer offering that sticks to the tried and true nature of what makes Battlefield tick.

So there you have it, three very different games make up May's PS Plus offering. All of them will be available to download starting from the 4th May — that's next Tuesday.
