Dodgebrawler Knockout City will be part of the EA Play subscription service from the day it launches on 21st May 2021, meaning you can simply sign up for a membership instead of buying the game. This goes for PlayStation 4 users as well as those on a PS5 console thanks to backwards compatibility. To be clear: Knockout City will be included with EA Play from the moment it's available on Sony systems — costing $29.99 per year.
Better yet, you can sample Knockout City before you even sign up. Free access to the full game will be provided for a limited time, and if you like what you see, the game can be bought for $19.99 standalone. Or, you could sign up for EA Play on a monthly or yearly basis. Knockout City also supports cross-play, meaning you can play with friends on PC, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. Furthermore, you'll be able to upgrade the EA Play version to the Deluxe Edition for $9.99. That grants you access to more outfits, logos, banners, and a chunk of premium currency.
We recently checked out Knockout City during a beta phase and it left us very excited for this final product. "The game has it where it counts; the gameplay is excellent, net code appears to be very strong, and decent customisation lets you play ball in style. With it being cross-play with multiple platforms, we're not too concerned about the size of the audience, and good word of mouth will hopefully keep the servers full. We've a good feeling about this one."
So, there you have it. Knockout City can be played via EA Play starting the very same day it releases on PS5 and PS4 — the former of which is through backwards compatibility. Genuinely looking forward to this! Thought the beta was a lot of fun!
Yeah this game had a terrible reveal trailer, but the gameplay is genuinely extremely fun and engaging. Very excited for this one.
Aaaaand another win for Gamepass 😬
@AFCC Yeah, Game Pass day 1.
@uptownsoul how?
@uptownsoul - Not really, EA Play is free with Game Pass.
@Shigurui Xbox Game Pass Ultimate*, the more expensive version.
Probably a learning moment from Rocket Arena's launch. Though this looks a lot better than that.
@uptownsoul - Your point was the deal is the same for Sony, it isn't that clear cut. As for GP pricing I know many people that use the service and not one has paid the price you suggest. Myself and everybody I know that use it paid between £121 to £151 for 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate.
this reminds so much of Rocket Arena
@uptownsoul - The £1 conversion for Gold to GPU applies to everybody who cares to buy into the service and the pricing for XBLG cards is pretty much uniform wherever you buy from. You were the one pointing out the pricing comparison for each service and I pointed out the route practically every GPU user on the planet has taken, but sure, you keep moving the goalposts there champ.
@Shigurui I've just done the same thing for a second time. Didn't think I'd get away with it it twice but I'm fully signed up for another 3 years as of last week. That's 6 years for around £220. Absolute steal. Haven't bought an Xbox game since Forza 7 in 2017.
@SoulChimera - That's awesome mate. How long did your sub lapse before you got the offer again? My initial 3 years are up soon. I wouldn't mind stacking another 3 myself
@Shigurui I let it expire and did it a couple of days after that. I read it would work again, but I was still surprised it did. Absolute steal. There was money off on cd keys at the time too, so I got the gold codes for even cheaper.
@SoulChimera - Cheers for the info man, nice one!
