Call of Duty: Warzone’s familiar Verdansk map will be replaced by a 1980s facelift when the current season concludes on 22nd April – and first footage of the Cold War-era environment has leaked online courtesy of an unfinished TV spot, which Activision is attempting to take offline. It looks like this is more a makeover than a wholescale redesign: familiar locations like the Stadium, Airport, and TV Station are all spotted – albeit with a period appropriate reskin.
Activision is planning to mark the transition to the new map with an in-game event, and nuclear warheads have been discovered within the world which look set to play a part. Of course, the facelift will better align Call of Duty: Warzone with Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is important because the Battle Royale has comprised a crucial component of the latter’s marketing campaign. It’ll be interesting to see how this all unfolds – judging by the leaked commercial, the publisher’s planning to go as loud as possible.

As long as the gameplay stays the same from the MW side I’m cool with this.
This isn’t exactly how I wanted to spend the rest of my hard drives available space but 80’s themed Verdansk it is, let’s lock & load fellas!
More warzone can only be a good thing..bring it on..
A little bit disaapointing to be honest. But hopefully the redesign will be more radical.
@Majk_SVK I agree, I was expecting a new map not just a paint job, guess we don't really know until we see it for ourselves.
I wish theyd have a night time version of warzone and multiplayer maps as a permanent fixture. I love sneaking around the dark
@Gmork___ definitely! It s starting to feel a little bit boring. It really needs to get fresh again. Somehow
