PlayStation 5’s hidden web browser works with a USB mouse – well, if you access it from within free-to-play title War Thunder, anyway. As many of you will know, while it’s gated off, Sony’s next-gen console does have a web browser – send a hyperlink in a Messages thread, for example, and you’ll be able to click it. You can even position web pages next to your games, allowing you to watch YouTube videos while you play.
And now, as alluded to above, one Reddit user has discovered USB mouse support within the browser. It works because War Thunder includes full keyboard and mouse support, so the functionality is “enabled” when the link is clicked. Nevertheless, this is a neat discovery, and it makes us wish Sony would just unlock the app for general use. We know it’s worried about security concerns here, but we do miss being able to pull up Push Square while playing.

Does anyone know if GeForce Now works on this browser? It would be pretty great if it did, it runs surprisingly well on my phone and just connects to my Steam account.
Mouse and keyboard? For using a console browser i have become accustomed to using a dualshock. It is slow to type like i am doing now, but comfortable to use while i am seated on my sofa or recliner.
Hopefully open use of the browser is added soon to the PS5. Current gen XBOX not only has a browser but will also soon have an upgraded version of that browser released.
@NoCode23 the web browser was used to jailbreak the ps4 last gen and they're obviously trying to prevent that on the ps5. It is there though so it's probably only a matter of time.
It amazes me how stripped down the ps5's UI is.
I might have cared about this a decade ago, but cool to know this trick exists regardless.
So can I play Game Pass on the browser?
@Bamila Truth. Looks like something a beginner software engineer put together.
Yes unlock it.
