SEGA recently registered a trademark for 'Lost Judgment' in Japan, as spotted by Gematsu. There's no clear indication of what 'Lost Judgment' could be, but that hasn't stopped people from connecting the dots; is this a potential sequel to Judgment, the Yakuza spin-off which released in 2019?
We can certainly see the connection, but it's not conclusive evidence. Again, this trademark was registered in Japan, and in Japan, Judgment isn't called Judgment — it's called Judge Eyes. As such, this sequel theory seems a bit stretched. Unless SEGA plans on rebranding Judgment in Japan, we don't see how this fits.
That's not to say that there will never be a sequel to Judgment, however. We all know SEGA likes to pump out a new Yakuza title every year or so, and the story of down-on-his-luck detective Yagami was a hit on PlayStation 4. Given that a PS5 remaster is launching next month, an eventual sequel is probably on the cards — we're just not sure that this trademark is the evidence that we need.

Sounds like some dark fantasy JRPG
A sequel to Judgment.....Just what I need.
Still not on Judgement yet. I'm at the last few hours of Yakuza 5, and will be doing 6 after a two week break (I've done nothing but Yakuza since January.) Soon after that, it's Judgement time.
I mean it would make sense, have one franchise pivot into a full blown RPG (Like A Dragon), and retain beat-em-up mechanics for another Yakuza sub-series such as Judgement.
Given that ending I'd say a sequel was always on the cards. Rereleasing one of your latest games for current gen is also usually a good sign that a sequel on that gen is coming afterwards. I will welcome this. Loved Judgement
N.i.c.e judgement is a amazing game.word up son
Kind of makes me think of both Ryu ga Gotoku Studio's Judgment and Lost Paradise at once. Confirmed: Yagami gets teleported to the Fist of the North Star universe.

I seriously doubt this is a sequel to Judgment, however I would love to get a sequel regardless!
As long as there is a follow up one day! Especially if Yakuza is going to be a full on RPG.
Yagamiiiiii!
