Quantum Error has been hanging around in the background for quite a while now. It was originally announced for both PlayStation 5 and PS4 almost a full year ago, but it's been months since we've seen it in action. For those out of the loop, this is first-person shooter with heavy horror elements, as you can clearly see in the new gameplay trailer that we've embedded above.
There's still no date attached to Quantum Error, and yes, it still looks a little rough around the edges, but hopefully the aforementioned horror elements are enough to carry the experience. Is this one on your radar? Don't stare too hard at the shadows in the comments section below.

The demo they showed during the Future Games show last night was super boring. The game looks nice but all of the enemies are super slow and super dumb. They also showed off a ton of weapons which maybe tipping too much of their hand?
I think the first issue is editing and cutting a trailer. I get they wanted to show off different enemies and guns but we don't need to see a weapon wheel in a trailer 5 or 6 times.
What an interesting combination of ideas.
Doom-esque weapons, Dead Space style gameplay, and jumpscare game-style enemies (especially that dude that sticks to walls).
Do hope the developers add tire-tracks to the ground when driving. The wind effect over the powdery terrain was cool, but the fact a giant vehicle gets through it without making a single track looks weird.
All-in-all I am intrigued, but also somewhat cautiously optimistic.
I was hoping for something Dead Space-esque, but this just looks like DOOM on downers.
Pass.
Yeah, I didn't like this trailer
This is one I want to like, but after the trailer last night, which still looked pre-alpha, by the way, some of my hopes have been cooled off. I'll still follow it, but just the fact that they thought releasing this trailer would generate more interest makes me question their judgement as a whole.
Looks like a mix of DOOM 3, Dead Space, Alien and Mass Effect with an emphasis on DOOM 3. Pretty nice.
Really need a new Dead Space
At a minimum, gets a spot on the GameFly rental list. Looks nice, not sure about enemies.
The main criticism I noticed was the lack of sound. The trailer they showed was very quiet.
@RudeAnimat0r wow yeah, the enemies don't look like any threat at all considering how slowly they move and that they appear to be mainly melee based vs your arsenal of weapons. As you say, it's probably more down to how the trailer was put together; it doesn't do anything to excite me
@Ralizah HA! exactly, and Doom 3 at that.
I got fully bored during this trailer looks sluggish and very little atmosphere or audio?
There's quite an issue I have and that's the enemy design. They are not interesting, they're not creative, and just boring to look at. It really seems that they're trying to just jam pack a lot of things in with open areas, driving, double jumping, and a.... BFG? Like why? Do you want this to be a horror game or no?
Yes looks nice but also looks boring to be honest. This will get mediocre reviews can tell already.
,
Well that was disappointing. If this is the direction they're going for I'd say stop marketing it as a horror game. It seems more like a slower paced doom clone.
Is it true that its third person shooter? (Some 3rd person gameplay after 1.00)
I'm getting very interested now. Should be both option for every game. Consumer friendly
Probably, the most boring gameplay trailer I've seen in a while. Everything looks generic that it reminds you of every sci-fi fps game possible.
It looks rough around the edges in a AA way, but I like that there are at least some interesting ideas. Currently I don't know that I'd get this but it's definitely on my radar more than the next Assassin's Creed or Call of Duty. If we want something other than generic AAA games then we need to be forgiving of some of the shortcomings of huge AA and indie games.
Calling it now. 2/10
@KippDynamite Ha, this game looks more generic than any AC or CoD title.
Say what you want about mega franchises but in the main they know how to please their fans and keep them coming back for more. This game by contrast looks like it doesn't know what it wants to be.
So we should just support something because it has a smaller budget? I'll always judge a game by its actual quality not by how 'hip' it is considered by the gaming snobs out there.
This game looks really poor, maybe the developers could learn from a Ubisoft or Activision on how to make an exciting gaming experience.
😝
something about this that has my attention could see myself getting it. bet when playing it feels a lot better as well.
Looks like a spiritual successor to Doom 3, of which I'm a massive fan so I'll definitely check it out. Hopefully they've still got to work on the enemies who I noticed made no sound whatsoever which was strange
@OM1993 the team's very small with not a great budget
@Col_McCafferty the team that made this consists of 4 to 5 people it's an indie game not AAA game
