The marketing cycle for MLB The Show 21 has been intense for a few weeks now, but it’s just stretching to full stride. This new cinematic trailer showcases the game’s visuals on PlayStation 5 in 4K at 60 frames-per-second – and it’s certainly looking clean. If we’re nit-picking, you can definitely tell this is built on Sony San Diego’s existing engine, so while character models look great, the grass and dirt could use some TLC moving forwards.
Interestingly, there are a few teases in the trailer. Roberto Clemente, the Puerto Rican right fielder, appears right at the very end of the video, suggesting he’ll be available in Diamond Dynasty mode. There’s also a very brief flash of Roman numerals in coloured circles, but we haven’t got a clue what they’re alluding to:
Any guesses? Let us know in the comments section below, and be sure to share your thoughts on the next-gen visual improvements as well.

It looks great.
MLB The Show 22 will be probably the game were you see a more graphical overhaul of the game.
I'm pretty sure having to develop for two consoles know got in the way of it (in some way or another). Understandable too.
@rpg2000 More like developing for 4 consoles! Xbox are getting this one too.
Really looking forward to this year's release. Hope we can preload soon!
@rpg2000 And during COVID, too!
Crowd should be replaced with cardboard cutouts of people - COVID and all!
Talk about a digital super-spreader!
NOTE: Joke!
