Life Is Strange Remastered Collection will launch on PlayStation 5 and PS4 later this year, and it’ll feature new visuals and animations that promise to “breathe new life into the great cast of characters and gripping stories”. The bundle – available as part of new game Life Is Strange: True Colors’ Ultimate Edition and as a standalone – features both the original Life Is Strange and its spin-off, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm.
In addition to the improved animations, it’ll also boast enhanced visuals, refined puzzles, and various lighting and engine upgrades. All of the music and content from the original will also be included, including Before the Storm’s bonus ‘Farewell’ episode. You can check out a trailer above.

Awesome news I’m not interested in the sequels but this game is a classic!!
The first one is something special, so I'm willing to play an enhanced version of it. I'll be avoiding Before the Storm though.
Played 1 and [before the storm], have to try 2 some time. Good game for trophy hunters.
Bit soon for a remaster and the faces still looked crap. Not what we played it for anyway.
@RogerRoger To be fair, that game was released on a newer engine and looked noticeably better than LIS1 and BTS. I guess they didn't feel that it needed a remaster
I wonder if these will be released retail too?
They definitely already did mocap for Life Is Strange 2. Not sure about facial mocap, though.
In fact I'm pretty sure they used Quantic Dream's studio for Life Is Strange 2.
@Snake_V5 No confirmation that I've seen yet, but almost certainly.
@Snake_V5 Thats what i hope i have the first two didnt buy the last one because of the weird decision of releasing it with one one episode as downloadable i always feel that it is a incomplete collection. Thats why i never bought a Telltale game physical.
Aannnd here we go with the PS4 Remasters for PS5 already......
The first game is good until the last chapter. I refuse to finish the game but I’ll play the rest again happily 😂
So will Before the Storm have the original voice actors this time? I remember the guild strike caised them to find replacements and they weren't the best
As a fan of Life is Strange and Before The Storm, I'll definitely be picking this collection up for my PS5. I hope this comes to Switch also, if not the remaster even the original versions would do. These games would be perfect to play in handheld mode. Now release Life is Strange 2 complete on disc and I'll buy that also. I passed on the PS4 version because only episode 1 came on the disc which was a disappointment seeing as it's called the Complete Edition.
@RBMango Why, if you don't mind my asking? I loved Before the Storm just as much as the original.
@Deadhunter To make a long story short: I really hated Before the Storm. I thought its writing was lousy, they turned Chloe into an annoying, mopey brat, the story was hilarious in all the wrong ways, and that talk back system was just....I don't even know what that was.
Already a remaster? "Mainstream" gaming has become really, really boring. Remasters and remakes everywhere. I don't like the art style either.
I played on PS3 originally. I downloaded a demo I think and found it really compelling, ended up waiting for the episodes as they came out. I really liked the game but weirdly as the sequels arrived, I didn't play them.
@RogerRoger Life is Strange 2 is only like 2 years old vs Life is Strange which like 6 years old and a 360/PS3 game... So it makes sense to focus on the older title and at least bring up to modern day standards.
@RBMango Fair enough. I thought Chloe's attitude was understandable, and really liked getting to know Rachel Amber. The talkback thing was inconsequential, but didn't detract from anything in my opinion. To each his own. 👍
@DTfeartheBEARD Episodes 1-4 plus captain spirit were on the disc for LiS 2. It was just episode 5 that was missing (which was completely ridiculous, given the disc launched on the same day as the episode). It literally made no sense for them to do that to the physical edition. I ended up trading my copy back in. It just never grabbed me in the same way as the first 2 games.
Remastering the game from 2015 in 2021...What a BS and greediness.
Have i played and platinumed these? Yes. Will i pick these up again? Hella yes. LiS and Before the storm were in my top 10 games of the PS4 generation. I miss Max and Chloe so why not. I just hope i can buy physically.
I note Square are advertising a physical version of true colours on their website, less a bonus chapter involving Steph. I very much hope they reconsider that decision and stick it on the disc too
I do love the idea of a PS4 game getting a remaster on the PS4😅
That being said, the original LIS is a wonderful game, one of my favs ever in fact. BTS.....has it's moments....at times.
@Rob_230 I must've forgotten. I knew the game didn't come complete on the disc but idk why I was thinking it only came with episode 1. If I can find it for $20 or less I'd buy it.
Heck yes! Even if just to support them💜
@dr-gorgo To be fair, the game is 6 years old now. Mario All-Stars was obviously a remaster collection, maybe the first, and came out about 3 years after Mario 3 did in the US. Link's Awakening on the GB got remastered 5 years later on GBC. I think it's more just that as you get older time moves more quickly so it seems like the original LIS wasn't that long ago.
I was a bit nonplussed at first but the more I think about it, the more I really would love to revisit these games again. Bring it on. Also reaaaaally hoping the soundtrack gets a proper vinyl release this time around, but not too optimistic on that one.
i don't think i will be picking these up again, unless they are heavily discounted as a bundle together, wouldn't have the time to play thru them again anyways but lets see if that changes
HYPE! Perfect excuse for me to go back and replay Life is Strange 1, plus I can finally beat Before the Storm.
