Assassin's Creed Valhalla PS5 PS4 PlayStation 4

There are perfectly sound reasons for why the UK's physical games chart is quite sedate at the moment. The country is in lockdown, for one, and the release schedule has been rather quiet in the first few weeks of 2021. We know these things, but it doesn't help this Monday morning-eyed author trying to conjure things to say about a top 10 we've seen a million times. At least we got to pad out the first paragraph with some complaining — that's how you know this is a UK article.

Indeed, the top 10 will be very familiar to anyone keeping tabs. Nintendo's exclusives are once again fairly dominant, while games like Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and FIFA 21 keep things ticking over for PlayStation. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales falls with style from fifth to 12th, while Assassin's Creed Valhalla enjoys a slight bump, moving from 12th to 10th. Ubisoft's open world RPG is the only game in the top 10 that wasn't there last week, so thanks for the very slight change of scenery.

Things are likely to look roughly the same until heavy hitters start landing. For PS5 and PS4, that means titles like Persona 5 Strikers, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Outriders, a little further out. Here's the current physical top 10 in full.
