After giving away Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for free last year as part of its Play At Home scheme to combat the coronavirus pandemic, Sony has confirmed that the initiative will return in the coming months. The biggest takeaway so far is that you'll be able to redeem a copy of Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 4 completely free of charge starting 1st March 2021 on the PlayStation Store. This offer will stick around until the end of the month, at which point a new offer will have already taken its place.
From 25th March 2021, another deal will grant extended access to Funimation for new subscribers. "What we outlined today is just the beginning of what’s in store for Play At Home. In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details on free games and entertainment offers dropping for our PlayStation community", says PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan.
In these historic times, the team at PlayStation wanted to thank the community by giving something back. These days, we could all use something to look forward to and another reason to stay safely socially distanced, so we are happy to be able to offer a free selection of great games and some entertainment offers.

A smart move given Rift Apart releasing soon and all.
I actually forgot that Sony did this last year.
Cool that they're bringing it back.
Fantastic news. I already had it from when it was PS plus but recommend everyone who hasn't yet had the chance to grab it while you can.
I think I already got this from psplus.
Oop to bad i aready own this, and also wasn't this just recently a PsPlus game?
Nice one SONY!!
I wonder if Insomniac will do a patch to unlock the framerate for PS5?
Probably too much to ask seeing as it's a freebie really.
i wont mind if next free game is Until Dawn. 😅
It’s just sitting on my home screen on PS4.. have yet to touch it.. caught up in borderlands 3.. will get around to it eventually.. hope it’s good
This a great thing even though we've beat that game already more times than I can count. Look forward to whatever title is next! Anyone who hasn't played this yet you're in for a treat!
I hope they do COD4 remastered, next
Nice from Sony.
I reckon Days Gone, remind us as we come out of lockdown that however bad it's been at least it wasn't the zombie apocalypse!
So this means we’ll also get the PS Plus games in March as well? Or will this count as one? 🤷♂️
The funamation subscription is quite cool, I've been on the fence about getting one
I own it .....I mean why would I not it's a Classic.......For everyone else who does not have it Enjoy 👍
@Mhoney pretty sure this is separate from the monthly games (which will available one day later). It's already been on Plus in 2018 anyway.
@Voltan I was hoping it was separate. I was trying to think back to what they did last year but I couldn’t for the life of me remember.
We’ll find out tomorrow about the Plus games
Spiderman .knack 2 and dead nation🤔.word up son
I'm not really interested in anime but out of curiosity I went to check if Funimation/Wakamin is even available in Poland and to my surprise it is... but only in Russian. WTF.
I have never played rachet and clank, got this on plus, might have to give it a go at some point. Fair play Sony for doing this.
Hopefully we can still claim this to keep even if we already have it in our libraries from PS Plus
Good to see , though I have this one as it came free on PS+ didn't it?
Didn't have the last one (Lego Ninjago)
Oh well, at least it was only £15 when I bought it last week...
@ThomasHL If you have decent internet, then Funimation is okay, but the app itself is far from being a good streaming service unfortunately. Before I moved, trying to watch MHA on my PlayStation on there was often times painful.
Having said that, this ties in really well with season 5 of My Hero Academia, so should be the perfect time to re-sub!
@Deadlyblack I missed out on it
@JamieF1 I use Funimation in my Roku and PS5 and I never had a problem when streaming. I do think they can improve the UI though, but that has nothing to do with streaming. Same thing as HBO Max...
@ralphdibny To claim ratchet and clank to own despite having it on plus,if you have 2 accounts like me,I will use my USA PSN account to claim it. Since my euro account only has plus. Its free to create a second PSN account so why not? Im definitely claiming the ratchet game on there.
Hopefully it’s not only games that have been given away before on plus/Now/Collection.
Everybody’s Golf.
Growing up, my dad would never play games with me with one exception: Golf on the NES. I’d like to think that there’s a family or two like mine out there that could grow closer together playing a fun golf game like Everybody’s Golf. My dad’s been gone nearly 7 years, and in looking back, I sure do wish he was here to play a round or two with me. We had some great times.
Uncharted lost legacy & tlou remastered probably
That's what I love about Sony in the games business. Can't see Nintendo ever doing something like this, too miserable.
This game would really benefit of a 60 fps upgrade on PS5.
Shame they have just given this on the plus thing for ps5. It’s a great aesthetic for them and good for some users but not great for the people who subscribe to services and buy their products.
@rpg2000 Yeah, I don't anymore now that I better internet, but where I was before it took a long time to load anything and the app just seemed unstable in comparison to how it is now. Whereas using Netflix, Prime, YouTube, Twitch, I had no issues. The wwe network was pretty shocking too after they updated it.
@Daleaf Having also never played one until starting it a few days ago I'd definitely say give it go. Rift Apart prompted me to try it out and I'm really enjoying it.
I'd recommend to anyone to pick it up and play it.
@BearsEatBeets cheers mate, yea I've heard loads of people saying how good it is, and I'm actually in a little slump atm, putting old games on playing for a day or so and stopping lol, just been playing cod for last 2 nights online ,so this might be a perfect time for me to give it a go, actually I'm going to download it now, might give it a go tonight or tomorrow. Rift apart does look good so playing this might tempt me into getting it.
My guesses are, Shadow of the Colossus, Last of Us Remastered and Bloodbourne.
Already got this one. I haven't played it, though, as I completed the ps3 HD version about a year and a half ago.
I've never owned a Ratchet and Clank title, so this is perfect news.
I so glad I’m getting this. I wonder if they going to release another game ? Thank you lord
@tinCAT-zero Would you give away your AAA franchises for free if people will always be willing to pay full price? Because I know I wouldn’t, can’t really blame Nintendo
As someone who doesn't have PS+, this is great news.
Gravity Rush/2, Knack/2......make these IPs breathe again!
Good on Sony to do this.
I already own the first game, but hopefully this means Insomniac is planning to release a free PS5 upgrade.
