Pumpkin Jack Brings Belated Halloween Festivities to PS4 This Month

Better late than never

Pumpkin Jack is a spooky action platformer that appears to share more than a little DNA with MediEvil. It launched in October 2020 on other systems, but missed that Halloween window on PlayStation 4. Not to be discouraged by the several months between then and now, publisher Headup Games is finally ready to bring the game to Sony's console.

A fresh trailer showcases the sort of thing you can expect: basic combat, platforming through creepy environments, and fending off all kinds of ghosts and ghouls. It looks like it could be an entertaining ride, even if it is removed from Halloween.

I’ve got the Switch version. Definitely a solid homage that could reaaaally benefit from better load times.

This has been developed over 5 years by one guy Nicolas Meyssonnier, who says his influences are MediEvil and Jak and Daxter and other classic PlayStation platformers from the PS2 era. It looks absolutely gorgeous and unbelievable that it's been created by just one person. Here's hoping it plays as guid as it looks...

@GrimWillows That's Jack the Pumpkin King. Seriously though, how incredibly unoriginal. If the title of the game is that generic and derivative, I don't have much hope for the game itself being anything special.

Anyone know the price this will be retailing for? Was eying it up, but dont have a switch. This will fill the void nicely till i manage to get my ps5 finally (sometime in June 2026 at this rate)
