In most recent years, Sony San Diego has allowed you to pull your save from a previous iteration of MLB The Show into the latest one. This is a godsend for modes like Franchise, as a full-length baseball season consists of north of 100 games, and these can take months to complete. However, if you’re planning to start a new season in MLB The Show 20 in preparation for MLB The Show 21, we’d recommend reconsidering.
An FAQ page on the series’ official website reveals that there’ll be no year-to-year save options in the latest version of the release. “No, year-to-year saves will not be supported in MLB The Show 21. We don’t have anything to share about the feature’s future, but we’re aware of its popularity in the community.”
It’s perhaps worth noting that the developer has confirmed that save progress will transition between consoles in MLB The Show 21, meaning you could technically start playing on a PlayStation 4 and pick up on an Xbox Series X. This suggests to us that it will have a solution in place moving forwards, but obviously it means your existing progress is stuck in the current game.

Cross save is pretty big in of itself. Considering how agnostic Sony was towards the idea of cross play this time like 2 or 3 years ago the fact they're actually trying to bring closer parity between PlayStation and Xbox versions of a game they themselves developed is really commendable
I assume there’s some sort of tangible overhaul to Franchise mode then. That would be welcome. Or perhaps they’re implementing the Covid season and as such, fixtures are different enough that you couldn’t possible import a regular season save file.
@get2sammyb You guys got yourselves a spammer.
That is not Slam dunking touchdown of a move is it.
