Frogwares’ detective-‘em-ups Sherlock Holmes have garnered a cult following over the past few years, so there’s pent-up enthusiasm for its origin story Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, which is scheduled to release this year on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. And with a full reveal due in March, the Ukrainian developer has released a short glimpse of gameplay from the upcoming open worlder.
While it’s only a brief tease, we get our first look at the Mediterranean backdrop Holmes will be exploring, as he seeks to unravel the mystery of his mother’s death. While there will be primary cases to discover and complete, the developer’s also promising plenty of side-missions, as it aims to expand upon the scope of its previous efforts. We’re looking forward to seeing more later in the year, as this has really whet our appetite.

Keeping my fingers crossed this turns out well. Frogwares deserves a success with all the publisher crap they've had to deal with in recent years.
I’m totally getting this even if it’ll probably end up being a bit crap. There really aren’t enough detective games that aren’t Ace Attorney or Danganronpa rip-offs.
@Arugula I honestly couldn’t really get into Judgment. I love Yakuza but Judgment felt like it was a few games put into one without much cohesion. I mean, Yakuza’s like that too but they’ve nailed the formula by now. I think a sequel could improve on some of the less fun parts.
@nessisonett. Judgement is way better than ace attorney dragon papa.whathever its call.word up son
@Arugula It's a cool Yakuza spin off, but it didn't really fully commit to the detective stuff. Puyo Puyo in the Tenkaichi St. arcade though so... <3
I'm going to buy this. This video didn't really show much, but the one a few weeks ago looked really good. I think these developers have a good game in them, fingers crossed it's this one.
Crimes & Punishments is the best, but i'll pick this up, no doubt.
Enjoyed crime and punishment, bought devils daughter for £1.50 a while ago but yet to play it. Will get this to support Frogware tho
I’ve enjoyed all the Sherlock games despite their bugs. Here’s hoping this is more polished. Also not sure we needed an origin story, but like others have said detective games are few and far between.
@Arugula I'm currently looking at judgement, is it any good?
@Arugula I've not really played the yakuza games but I like the look of the setting, I just wondered if there is enough actual detective work and variety in the game.
@Arugula Thanks for the input, think it's as bout £16 on psn atm so might get it. 👍
