Destruction AllStars’ community manager has taken to Reddit to confirm that it hears you “loud and clear” regarding the game’s inability to switch off voice chat entirely. “We're working on a fix for these issues ASAP,” they stressed, adding that it may be able to provide a timeline for said update later this week. In the meantime, developer Lucid Games recommends using the associated Activity Card to mute lobbies.
Elsewhere in their post, the community manager added that it’s “heard that some of you would like some epic music to wreck to”. They continued: “While the lack of music during a match is intended (it's not a bug!), we'll certainly be reviewing this feedback.” They reiterated that “this is only the beginning”, with new game modes, AllStars, and much more due out all throughout 2021 and beyond. For now, if you’re looking to get started with the game, check out our Destruction AllStars guide.

I really like the quotes in the title.
I like the studio's attitude towards the community. Might be just good PR but it could also mean the game will get better relatively quick (not that it's bad now)
Of course they do, the mics always on!
@LiamCroft This made me chuckle lol.
Been enjoying the game when I can play it but glad they are working on this issue!
It’s fun....I’ve seen comments saying a racing mode would be good too with this game and gotta say that would be a real blast.
I hope they consider that over the next year or so.
@Hurblyburbly some form of racing would be nice but that actually requires more careful balancing than you might first think
But yeah, there's a lot of those comments - I won't be surprised if a mode like that comes at some point.
Did sony bought stakes on fromsoftware owner Kadokawa ?
Agreed, but there is also a button on front of controller as well. When i first got my PS5, i didnt even realise it had a microphone in and raged and flamed my teamates in a ranked match on Apex haha
Yeah, it was weird suddenly hearing a load of yelling and music through my controller, ha.
Glad of the ability to mute via the card, will be more glad when I can set no voice as default!
I can't even figure how to mute any voice chat outside of being in a party. That could use it's own guide honestly.
First match I tried had someone blasting music the whole match, even though like 6-7 started yelling at him to turn if off.
